Need help with 2H warrior stats

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 11:41 pm

What ratio of magicka, health and stamina should I be using for my 2H warrior? And when should I cap certain stats?

Depends...

Will you be using magic? If not, then obviously you don't need to put anything in magicka. I usually cap my stamina at around 200 at most and chuck the rest in health.

I would say a bunch of points into Health and Stamina.

Yeah obviously, I know that. But at what ratio?

And also, I don't intend to use magic that much.

If you're not intending to focus on using magic at all (Even if you dabble in restoration, you won't need any increases to your magicka), just go 50/50 on health/stamina.

or 60/40, i'd say anything over or below that value is overkill. You want to try and keep a steady balance, too much health means you'll barely get in any good hits, and too much stamina means you'll get in the good hits, but also drop like a sack of potatoes.

I would say if you are building a 2 hander- do not put points into magic, since you have to sheathe your weapon (lose all your offense) in order to cast.

As far as stamina/health ratio. I would put enough in stamina to finish a good size fight, and then no more- the rest into health. If you get too much stamina it gets pointless since you will never use it all.
Just dabble in each until you can get a feel for how much stamina you need, then you are good.

Health is more valuable than stamina at level-up. You need stamina, of course, but there are other easy ways to get it with enchantments and food.

I'd put more into Health at low levels. With my 2 handers, I like to put 2 or 3 points in Health for every point of Stamina. You're *going* to run out of Stamina during most fights; you can't overcome that by just pumping it up at level-up, so may as well ensure your survivability.

Simple, if you realize you are running out of stamina in fight, give points to stamina, otherwise go with health..

A 2 hander svcks the stamina like a hoover. I'd go 1 to 1 until you don't find youself always svcking down stamina potions during boss fights. If you're having survival problems, go with more health and find other means of raising stamina.

I really don`t go in for this kind of thing, It reminds me of the anol number crunching of the old rpg days. Now I love rpging and played the paper games, but I was into the adventure, not into the exact numbers like every one else. As long as my sword did a reasonable job, I was happy- i didn`t have to have the +70D^ vorpal blade sword of humongous.

Oh never mind. I just play the game and put up my strength and stamina as the situation warrants- I ask nobody about `ratios`.

There really is no set ratio, as it varies according to play style. Those who go 2H+Light Armor want more Stamina, as you do a lot of Sprint-Kiting to avoid getting your head split until you get your armor rating high, while those who go Heavy Armor don't need it as much as the idea is to stand and tank.

I typically stop at 200 Stamina, but then I tend to use the perk from Restoration that lets you heal Stamina along with Health, as well as a sword with an Absorb Stamina enchantment on it, so don't need a huge reserve of the stuff. Those doing a more 'pure' warrior-type build would want more stamina, since they're not using those things and will run out on a regular basis if they leave it low.
