Ok so how do I edit .DDS files I have tried PhotoShop but it says its the wrong type of file.

you'll need the Photoshop DDS plugin. http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html or grab a copy of GIMP and, it's DDS plugin. http://code.google.com/p/gimp-dds/

Edit: I only have the Mac version of photoshop and, the plugin is only for the PC version. I use a program called "Graphics Converter" to convert the dds into photoshop pds format, I edit the textures as I would any other pds. Lastly I use Gimp to convert the file back into a dds, which the game can use.

I'm not sure how the photoshop plugin works but, I assume with it you could simply open dds's in photoshop, not having to use the long workaround I need. :brokencomputer:
