I need a mod to stop generating random Sigil Stones

Post » Fri Mar 11, 2016 10:06 am

Currently I am tempted to get 100% invisibility with sigil stones every time I start playing oblivion but that feels like cheating.

Is there a possibility to define a Sigil Stone after entering the Oblivion gate so you cant just save and load before getting it until you get the Sigil Stone you want?

Please dont just tell me that I have to stop doing it because I simply cant.

I'm not aware of any mod that does this.

I just do what you've been doing, save before and then keep reloading until I get one that I want. It's your game, you don't have to stop working the save/reload system if you don't want to, play however you want.

Or just remove the one you got and add the one you want from the console. Have a look at the UESP for the item codes: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Oblivion

You can get an idea of how this works by looking at mods that upgrade levelled items as you level. Sorry, I can't remember the name right now and I'm not at my PC. You can also look at the Oblivion Gate Closer mod.

sorry about my bad english

I tried to say that I do NOT want to be able to do it!

Because it feels like cheating. You shouldnt be able to load and save until you get the Sigil Stone you want because thats too easy imo!

You are like the cigarette chain smoker. "Gee! I really need to stop smoking because of cancer blah blah, but I just can't. I need a lock for my cigarette case as I have no willpower."

About your question, I never saw a similar mod in the Nexus (but I don't know the whole Nexus database, so this doesn't means such mod doesn't exists).

About cheating: a mod like that would be useless. Even if you install a similar mod, if you really can't stop cheating, you would use console commands.

A mod may make the sigil stone rewards fixed (instead of random), but it can't fix your desire to cheat.

Perhaps this is what you want?

Uhm... ok. OP, do not flame people on this forum. Other members, just use the report button, don't get all cranky back if someone steps over the line. Some posts were removed.

To the topic starter... sorry, it would be hard to create a mod for self control... However saebel may have pointed you in the direction of something you could use.

keep it civil y'all.

Maybe f4ke doesn't want to be able to choose the sigil stone. Maybe he still want to receive a random sigil stone, but he's pointing out this random choice is made too late (when you take the stone), so you can exploit it by saving then take/reload/take/reload/take/... until you take the sigil stone you want, thus breaking the random choice mechanics.

If a mod move the "random choice" to the moment you step in the Oblivion gate, a cheater would not be able to do take/reload/take/... because he would need to reload from before entering the Oblivion gate (and replay the whole realm) every time to get a different sigil stone.

Still, if he really like to cheat, I don't know what could prevent him from using console commands to circumvent the mod's limitation.

Ah. Now I understand. I am not aware of any mod that does that. Although I don't think it would be that hard to do. You might be able to get someone to take a stab at it.
