I need a overhaul,badly

Post » Tue Sep 09, 2014 6:19 am

Hey everyone, I need a overhaul for Skyrim. I'm sick of finding almost no valuable stuff at lower levels, sick of being able to beat dragons at level 1, sick of having useless perks.

Any chance there is an overhaul I overlooked ? Don't tell me Requiem please...

This x 1000000. Skyrim Redone is fantastic and the perk changes alone make it worth checking out.

The Brodual youtube channel did some vids on each module for Skyrim Redone so you can get a feel for the changes it makes.

Yep, always liked Skyrim Redone myself. Add ASIS while you're at it, with the improved ini and the compatability patch for the two.

Add into the mix Combat Evolved and encounters will never be the same. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56147/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D56147%26preview%3D&pUp=1

+1 for SkyRe and ASIS (esp. with Apocalypse Spells and improved INI Files). Also, Loot & Degradation for tempered and enchanted weapons on enemies.

I also use Skyre with ASIS.

SkyRe has a module which scales the enemies around your level, so you have a group of bandits where some are below, equal or above your level and you never know which one it is. ASIS makes sure all enemies have the same access to perks and skills you have.

A question of mine about Deadly Dragons or whatever mod caused it :)

I use expert on the mod and met the first time a storm-dragon. It actual cast a storm in the sky and everyone in and around Whiterun was hit by lightning all the time (one hit ~25% of your life). Even after it was lying dead, the storm still went on for about five minutes. Is this normal?

Never before have I seen a dragon cast anything like it.

I tried skyre, but I felt like it heavily encouraged grinding. Especially with summons. I usually use a heavy conjuration based style, and I found that not only the creatures were bad, but also that I had to keep casting. I casted like 25 hours straight and all I had was 50 conjuration. Are you serious? XD

Edit: Ah, I want to add that I played only with Skyre the first time I ever played skyrim. ;D. Explored over 60 dungeons, and all I was able to find was an ebony weapon? :|

Morrowloot (to reward exploration, and make loot not be level based)... I recommend this one actually though it's fairly new. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50995/? (I used a patched Wryebash version to combine it with some other Morrowloot mods). This Morrowloot mod also makes enemies that should be more difficult, much more difficult.

Because it makes some zones actually more dangerous than others level wise, and makes it where you can encounter powerful enemies even early on.... And best of all, no more bandits in daedric or glass armor (also the version I recommended actually gives destruction better damage scaling though it's not overpowered). Also, ASIS (so enemies aren't mindless pushovers), NoHealthRegen so you don't just automatically regenerate health, Better Quest Objectives, Path Of Shadows with the modular Sneak Settings and Combat perks ESPs activated (though I don't advicate the other ESPs for compatibility reasons). Along with path of shadows improved sneak detection to make sneaking more balanced.

Also Dynamic Objects so you can safely store stuff in any container (as well as train on dummies, since you might have to). Sands Of Time as well, since it makes things more challenging and... Interesting. I have like 230 total mods and I don't have a lot of spare time so I can't go into length about it. Lastly I also use Ely's Uncapper, so that I can continue to level up, actually the way I like playing, with the one thing being I altered the Ini so I only get 1 perk every three levels, which makes it much much harder starting out as a new characters, and makes it way more difficult to become a master of all.

I hated how in vanilla Skyrim it was too easy to become good at everything via perks, and how there was virtually no pressure on the player to specialize. To make up for the lack of interesting perks in general, I just combine Nature Of The Beast, with the companion Inigo, and my self made Morrowind Vampires mod- and choose my perks... Wisely.

I don't know about you but I HATE how it's much easier to excel at everything in Skyrim than it was in Morrowind. I also tried Requiem but idk lots of compatibility issues and stuff.

I also use Immersive NPC in the dark, so that npcs who don't have torches, who aren't khajiits vampires or whatever, have a harder time fighting the player, but only until the place is lit up again. Also Character Creation Overhaul, to make it more like Oblivion or Morrowind, which will help a little with all the other things I mentioned increasing difficulty. I don't know if my recommendations will give you exactly what you want, though they'll at least make Skyrim a lot more like Morrowind.

I also highly recommend Skyrim Sewers 3 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14351/? One other mod I recommend is joinable forsworn http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8422/? cause I really really really dislike both the Imperial Legion and the Stormcloaks, and with the hardcoe version where it makes all Stormcloaks/Imperial Legion people hostile to you if you collaborate with the forsworn in a certain quest those extra sewers entrances combined with my acrobatic infitlrator mod will help a lot with getting in and out of cities. And if you dislike fast travel, and want a little bit more of a challenge Frostfall combined in there, as it can disable fast travel if you want.

That's all just my personal recommendations though, I find all these combined make the difficulty just right, not so difficult I'm constantly reloading and dying so much it destroys immersion, but difficult enough that I can't just blow through all the content at a low level with absolutely zero skill or attention required.

Edit: Forgot here's the Ely's Uncapper ini settings I use to get 1 perk every 3 levels. If you copy and paste this for your settings this you'll have the same thing.

Weird. I think SkyRe's changes to conjuration are great.
