Game used to freeze once in a while, it wasn't such a problem i just restarted the system and didn't complain.
But this...

I went to the tops and finished the talent quest. Watched the drifter guy than left the theather, as soon as i left i began running towards the casino exit the game froze.
I reloaded the last autosave began moving it froze again at the same spot. I reloaded the autosave tried to take a different way but as i got closer to exit it froze again. So, i was stuck. reloaded my last save in freeside, came to strip, entered the tops again to finish the quest, after i checked my weps with the greeter guy the game froze again. 2nd try: i couldnt even talk to guy to check my weapons game crashed :brokencomputer:

This is my 2nd playthrough by the way. I reloaded my ex character and enter tops in hope of ignoring the bug. I entered with no problem than i tried it again with my current i passed and finished the quest without any problems. BUT after this i went to ultra luxe took another quest and entered another cell(gourmand) game crashed after loading. Reloaded with frustration i went to vault 21 for yet another quest game froze again as i was trying to make my way to the marker. Tried 4 times, nothing changed.

I just gave up. And im waiting for the next patch as i dont know how to get thorugh these freezings and crashes.

Any info on the patch release date?

Patch is currently in Certification process. We should get it soon.....maybe even this week. :vaultboy:

i hope so i stopped playing fallout new vegas when black ops came out then decided to play today and only to get my console frozen
i just gave up straight away didnt even play for more then 5 damn mins

I know what you mean. I put my copy away until it's patched. The freezing got progressively worse until now I'm not even able to play at all. I love the game and can't wait to play again but no sense in even putting the disk in right now because I am locked out of several key areas because of freezing any time I try to enter.

I just saw where they said on the 18th that a new patch is on the way....won't get here soon enough!

Ive been playing about 20 hrs and now i cant fast travel, walk any distance or even save. Im puting the game away till they fix this.

Having to wait for a damn patch is killing me. Want to play the game.

Here's what just happened to me....I'm on my second playthrough level 10. Just finished Boone's first mission in Novac (you should know the one and probably has nothing to do with it) but anyways load up my save and decide to do Ranger Andy's mission. I go to Ranger station charlie then go to chase down the legion, I figure I'll pick them off so I go to change my weapon with a hotkey...game freezes....restart system, load autosave....before I go get the legion I decide I'll try changing my weapon first....game freezes, restart system....load autosave change weapon...game freezes....I restart my system I load my last save in Novac go to change my weapon...game freezes.....So I decide to see if anyone else is having a similar problem....restart system, load my Novac save, play around in Pip-Boy and look on the forums...after about fives minutes of looking I go back the the game....its froze..........I try everything I can think of but I can't get around the hotkey freezing.....I would love to put the game to the side and wait for the patch but I have no other games to play...with christmas just around the corner I really can't go out and buy anything new.........

BTW I reloaded my first character and everything is fine with that one.....

I strongly agree. My game freezes up constantly. I've been a fan of the Fallout series since 1998 and I was hyped up when Fallout 3 came out. It froze up a few times. Operation Anchorage was a nightmare due to bugs.
And now... New Vegas.

We need a patch bad.
