Do I need to redownload the main game program?

I've just re-installed Vista x64, undated Windows and Live completely, as well as the graphics card. The game starts and runs great for a while, then freezes. Now, I'd done the .ini file fix for 4cores, and it did the trick before I DLed the DLC package. I clicked on the Zeta and the Broken Steel and I didn't click the others because I'm an ignorant old guy and I was worried that clicking them all would cause problems. Any way, the first problem is that I now cannot find My Documents. The only thing I see is Documents>My Games>Fallout 3. This folder has 4 files in it: Saves, Fallout 3, FalloutPrefs, RenderInfo.

Here's why I'm posting; I was looking through that Fallout 3 configuration file, and all of a sudden I see this:

[GeneralWarnings]
SGeneralMasterMismatchWarning=One or more plugins could not find the correct versions of the master files they depend on. Errors may occur during load or game play. Check the "Warnings.txt" file for more information.

SMasterMismatchWarning=One of the files that "%s" is dependent on has changed since the last save.
This may result in errors. Saving again will clear this message
but not necessarily fix any errors.

Now, I would have never found this warning except by blind luck. I think that when I downloaded the files, I somehow used a different route for the Main than I did the DLC/Manual. I hope that's the reason, as I'm going to try the Main DL again, so my other question is, should I completely erase the Game files before re-installing, or is it okay to leave it there? And why did I only now find this MasterMismatchWarning rather than...I dunno, some kinda head's up woulda been nice.

There is no My Documents in Vista, they shortened the name to Documents, so that is the one you want.

No it's not, those warnings you mention have nothing to do with your game freezing. Besides which, seeing it in the ini file means nothing. Unless it appears in the game itself that message is just basic text telling the game what to print out in those kinds of events.

That text is always there, it's just part of the ini options. It doesn't indicate any sort of error though unless it comes up in your start menu.

Thank you. I figured it out, somewhat, when I Googled the quoted info, and found it on alot of .ini screenshots. Fortunately, I guess, I had been downloading and re-installing enough, by then, so I just did the pipe-throttle into my .ini file in the Documents folder, and, as you explained, it worked perfectly, and I played for about 6 hours and it was smooth as silk.
