I need some advice about LOD...

Hello everyone...

I have been searching for an accurate answer on the net but I think I am not wording the search correctly. I am seeking a measurement of cells that it takes for lod to render, how far in length before the lod will render again once out of view then back in...

I am creating a world space cavern, kind of similar to the size and look of Blackreach, but not quite as massive. I do not want it as dark so I am trying to use statics that have lod but I am limited in choices. Problem I am having is with the statics like BlackreachECorner01c wall section not having lod, so from a distance, there is a gap where the sky shows through until it naturally renders the wall when the player is close enough. I thought of having mountain pieces behind those walls but I don't want to have too many items present as far as loading and lag, etc...

So, my questions are: What is the general number of cells it takes for the lod to generate when approaching the wall? Is the cell length for lod the same for everyone's computer whether the computer can handle it or not, or is it totally on the settings in the SkyrimPrefs.ini or wherever else it is stored? Also, can I make my own lod for statics like BlackreachECorner01c and use them without being too much of a system burden? If so, would someone please direct me to a tutorial link or explain how it can be done?

Any and all advice is appreciated.
