Need some advice here. ( Character writing )

Hello there folks.

I'm new to the forums and I just need some advice and critique about a character I'm currently writing for Skyrim. You see, before I can actually play the game I always plan a character, with his or her own unique and complex personality.

Problem is, I constantly doubt my writing skills and I always think ( Especially characters or character sheets ) I just get it wrong and achieve the level of a fifth grader in writing.

So here I am, looking for some advice regarding my writing and how good it actually is, maybe I came to the wrong place but this is about Skyrim after all and it's the only place I could think of.

Anyway, enough with the rants, here is a short description of my character's personality.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Voldor might project a false impression of an aggressive, quick-tempered and a vulgar person because of his tough and strong physique and sloppy general appearance but in fact Voldor is of quiet and calm nature and an intelligent man.

Although he looks like the average Nord warrior or mercenary he greatly likes magic and actually learned the basics from his friends with whom he spent most of his childhood and who were mostly beginner mages.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

So that's it as for now, just a little piece that I really like to know how good/bad it is.

Thanks and sorry for the walls of text. :D

I think it's a good start. An a-typical calm Nord mage sounds interesting :)

It's good to see that I was able to give the idea at least. :D

However my question is how well did I manage to actually describe the character and his personality ? ( I know it's not enough but I haven't finished yet. )

How well is it written ? Any grammatical mistakes ?

Something that really annoys you ?

Wow, I know I sound like a complete nerd here but I'm too desperate.

i would definitely suggest you read some of the past journals and the bigwooly stuff, as well as, the DiD threads.

you'll get a good idea of what type of writing is out there and what you like in particular.

other than that, just have at it. you'll get better as you actually do it.

in fact, if you're not used to DiD runs, it would give you a great opportunity to do some "short story" type writing exercises.
