Need some help with mods!

Alright so I run the steam version of morrowind and started to install mods based of this guide http://morrowind2009.wordpress.com/

I have modded Oblivion so its not unfamiliar to me just a bit different.

I have installed MGE, launched game and it worked fine. Installed unofficial oblivion patch and then the MCE (Morrowind Code Extender or patch whatever it is that modifys the exe)

Now everytime I launch the game I get a bunch of errors like:

Error opening file Shaders\TexCoord_4_Offset_a.vso

Any idea what mod did this and how I can fix it?

Thanks!

(Note: the game still runs fine if I click "Continue running anyways")

Full errors from warning file below:
Error opening file Shaders\TexCoord_4_Offset_A.vso

I believe they have to do with your video card not being able to render Pixel Shading.
If you turn off Pixel Shading, do the errors still occur?

Perhaps one of the MGE experts will know more info, because it might be caused by MGE.

These two can be ignored, they are harmless and common:
Texture "Textures\_land_default.tga" count 3.
Texture "Textures\menu_thick_border_bottom_right_corner.dds" count 2.

Hmm... my card should be able to support pixel shading. Especially on Morrowind.

You'll get those shader errors if your trying to use one of the recent revisions of MGE (v3.8.2-rev.0138 or rev.0145 as of this post) and have Distant Land disabled from MGEgui.

Solution is to either generate distantland files and use the Distant Land feature, or fall back to an older MGE revision.

That did seem to fix all the errors and I can load the game fine now. However...

Interiors seem to work fine and I can run around on the ship when I create a new character. As soon as I use the hatch to go above the ship into Seydenn it crahses. Loaded an old save and if I try to leave the house to go to Balmora it also crashes. Any idea what could be causing this now?

Thanks!

Another update... I think I fixed the issue. I disabled distant lands on start up and just don't enable it in game and the game works fine. Damn MGE and its buggyness.

The svn revisions of MGE are beta and prone to cause crashes - by using them you are effectively a beta tester. ;)

Only use beta and test/dev releases of MGE if you are willing to risk crashes in exchange for features. Instead you may want to use the latest stable MGE release (3.8.0b).

Further discussion related to your issue with MGE should really be posted in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1088291-morrowind-graphics-extender-mge/. If you haven't already read thru the FAQ and online documentation please do so, and make sure that your graphics card supports shader model 2 otherwise distantland won't be compatible no matter which of those versions you try.
