need some serious help please

well yeah i really need help with this as i've no idea whats causing it, i can fast travel to all the districts fine, but as soon as i try to go "outside" of the IC, i.e. take any of the gates to the imperial isle, the game crashes, i've also tried to fast travel to the stables, it crashes, i've tried running towards the IC from another city, the game crashes when i get near it, this is something i've never seen before and from boss and wrye bash i can't see any problems with my mods, unless there is a conflict between BC, OBC and UL.

i've also tried disabling all the mods, and then save just outside the market district, when i enable them and go into the market district, it's ok, and then when i try to come out again the game crashes..please help

i've also tried disabling all the mods, and then save just outside the market district, when i enable them and go into the market district, it's ok, and then when i try to come out again the game crashes..please help

according to what dp said if i wanted to use OBC and also BC-better IC, then i had to install OBC full, and then install BC full overwriting everything from OBC when prompted, and thats what i did, i dunno if it was right though, i'll try to totally uninstall OBC and see if the crash still happens.

according to what dp said if i wanted to use OBC and also BC-better IC, then i had to install OBC full, and then install BC full overwriting everything from OBC when prompted, and thats what i did, i dunno if it was right though, i'll try to totally uninstall OBC and see if the crash still happens.


My understanding is that OBC and BC should not affect the same city. You have

Open Better Cities Full.esp - affects all cities except IC - KEEP 9 ensure it is B&M version)

Open Better Cities - Full City Defences.esp - affects some cities

Better Cities - Full City Defences.esp - affects all cities - LOSE

Better Cities Full - B&M Edition.esp - affects all cities including IC - LOSE

Better Imperial City.esp - affects IC...again

Also check your landscape patches, you have a few patches covering the same area

eg
Better Cities - Unique Landscape Barrowfields.esp

Better Cities - Unique Landscape Chorrol Hinterland.esp

Better Cities - Unique Landscape Cheydinhal Falls.esp

Better Cities - Unique Landscape Skingrad Outskirts.esp


These are not needed if you only use BC IC

Edit: Just read you're other thread... if you give up on this you should try http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33003, new from Arthmoor, and it has compatibility patches for many other mods.

i've given up OBC, coz i'll be adding quest mods and i really want to just play the game normally now without the worry of OBC compatibility issues, i've completely uninstalled OBC, however the crash still occured, so now i have the full BC installed, just like i wanted to, and i tried something completely unrelated to this, i installed streamline and voila, the crash stopped...i'm just totally confused now, because streamline is only supposed to help performance, maybe the crash was caused by loading too much details as soon as i come into sight of better IC? i would've thought my specs would've been able to handle everything on max settings, maybe streamline just lowers the settings to lowest for that 1 second to not crash the game, somehow it's working now, haven't tested it for long periods of gaming though, so who knows might happen later when i try to load things/places, def not gonna install any more mods for now just want to play this game, always a pain with the mods :(
funny thing is i haven't even configured streamline, i will later but all i did was throw in the esp with the folders and it did the job..no idea how it helped since i have a quad core i7 930 2.8Ghz cpu (8 processors), 6gigs ddr3 ram triple channel, and ati HD 5870 gcard 1gig vram, running win7 64bit. how does that system need streamline even if 500 mods were installed >_>"

I agree it seems unlikely, tho (modded) Oblivion does not seem to have much respect for "modern" technology. My install includes FCOM, BC/OCR, Unique Landscapes, RAEVWD etc running pretty stable on a C2D E4300... wanna swap rigs? :whistling:

hahaha, i think i'll be fine :P although i actually promised myself that i would use less mods this time so that the game can run smoothly, turns out "less" is already 200+, i seem to have an addiction for mods, besides i really can't see how i can shrink the number of mods i use, just using FCOM is 50+ esps IIRC.
