I need someone to tell me why this is a bad idea...

my $00.02

while I like the idea of balance the problem with what your idea is that A. most daedric equipment IS acquired through dremora, ( fyi I've been playing this game since I was 13...) and would make very difficult to find daedric equipment, i can count a few place were you could get them but the rest are largely quest related, or on npc's that are related to quests.

this might be be all nice and fine for some but I think figgerty strikes a balance with his scripted approach.

but then I am not the one make the the mod...so *shrugs*

How would you determine whether or not they disappear upon death, and make that happen, without a script?

If the bound weapon disappears? Bound spell always wears off and removes the weapon upon death, no way the weapon can stay in inventory :P

@BTB- what you had in mind does work the way you intended it to work, so that leaves only the balance.

Taking into account that daedric armor set is hell to acquire unless you know exactly where to find it, it wouldn't be so weird to see the weapons findable so hard.

I suggest to have next- Dremoras we see now to have only bound weapons, and new Dremoras for higher levels that have bounds and a leveled lists with really slim chance of weapon appearing.

This combination is perfect in my opinion even if the leveled list gives a 1% chance.

From personal experience I've grown to dislike -- and even fear -- having scripts on more creatures than necessary due to the possible number of creatures in the cell ( and neighboring cells? ) present and increase of CTD if they get too complex. I don't see a problem with them having bound weapons in place of real ones. Variety would be a concern for me, but if it doesn't cause conflicts with other mods you could create a different Dremora and Golden Saint for each bound weapon and place them in levelled lists, then place those levelled lists in the levelled lists that have the other daedra. Then they wont become overly common by having thirty instances in each list, but also wont carry the same weapon every other one carries.

No need for additional creatures, the higher level Dremoras could simply be put in existing daedric leveled creature lists so there would be a smaller set chance of that high level Dremora to appear instead of some other creature, if required level is met ofc.

Also yeah, for each of those creatures there could be a different Dremora for each of those bound weapons and all of them would be set in the list, so which bound weapon would Dremora wield would also be random.

If you're going to do that, you might as well kick that [censored] up old-school and do a 1/16 chance.

That's really your best balance of making it obtainable, yet you don't end up swimming in the stuff.

Anyways, if anyone is actually curious what I ended up doing with this, here's my personal edit of Morrowind Advanced: http://btb2.free.fr/files/morrowind_advanced.zip

It's an addon, not a replacement, so it does require MA 1.82 to be installed first.
