Need Trap Help: Managing trap activation length

Hey guys n' gals, me again. Need some help with some traps...


TRAP PROBLEM 01:
I'd like to create a trap that as long as you are within a geometry (currently testing with DefaultActiveSelfTRIG) a trap will continuously do its thing (currently testing with TrapBladeSwinging01DustFX). Once you are out of the trigger box i want it to stop. However the basic activate parent relationship activates it the first time and then never again. Do i have the wrong trigger mesh? What values and where do i need to seek out and change to get the desired result?


TRAP PROBLEM 02:
There is another trap I'd like to stop after a specific amount of time. I am using a lever with spears. When i flip the lever the spears go crazy/nutz forever. I'd like them only to go for like 5-8 seconds before shutting off and waiting for the lever to be pulled again. Is there a check-box or some values i can edit somewhere on either the lever or spears themselves to fix this?
