We need a way to mark beds as owned and to lock doors

One of the most annoying things about settlement creation is that everything is out in the open and shared. There needs to be a way to mark and assign beds to you, your companions, and your settlers, as well as being able to put locks on doors with corresponding keys. Not only would this keep your citizens from constantly barging into your home, but it would allow you to create actual apartments for people, giving them a key to their door and assigning them a bed in that room.

I'd just be happy if you could mark something as owned by you and that no one else could use it. So for doors this'd mean no more settlers in my house. Other than that I'd be happy for people to use whatever.

I've heard that you can assign settlers to use specific beds, but that's not really a solution, as you have to remember who goes where. It would be much easier to simply mark a door or something as off-limits, and anything behind that door is off-limits.

Or maybe some kind of area marker? Like the one used for settlements, but smaller. You could manipulate it's borders and only you and certain NPCs (like your lover) could cross it.

I was shocked to discover doors can't be locked.

I built a wall around my settlement and raiders can just *open the door*.

I think that's why God made fragmentation mines.... :)

Something I never got used to in Skyrim was people barging into your rented room and yelling "YOU'RE NAKED!" :) I can certainly agree that locks are needed though, since it appears to be impolite to shoot settlers who have no respect for boundaries. Assigning beds does work for the bed, but you can still wake up to a settler sitting in a chair by your bed staring at you... and that damned dog just will NOT leave a door alone.
