Is it possible to play the Nehrim mod with a steam Oblivion? I've tried to make it work but have been unsuccessful. Any info about steam Oblivion plus Nehrim would be appreciated. Thank you all for mods and a great forum!

At first we didn't think the books would be done but it looks like we will be able to get the majority, if not all translated.

I hate to be repetitive, but is there any general time period that's seen as the possible release date for the English version? Kind of excited :[

For some unknown reason when I try and start up Nehrim it tells me that i need to insert my Oblivion Disc, but my disk is definitely in the drive. Anyone else experienced this problem or can someone with more knowledge help me fix it?

I have problem starting Nehrim with a steam copy of oblivion. Any one that got Nehrim working playing with oblivion out of steam? So sick if steam/valve fooled me in to buying a copy of oblivion

Sorry if I'm hammering with a similar question as before but I really want to try Nehrim.

Do weapons vendors and spell vendors level up with you? Everyone is still selling iron weapons and the few spell vendors are selling rank 1 and very few rank 2 stuff. Still though, great mod. Also great news about the books, there have been some very lengthy ones.

Installation with Steam

Steam is a little rigid, in terms of its copy protection. So you cannot have Nehrim and Oblivion unfortunately running in two different folders, but must override Oblivion with Nehrim.
First create a backup copy of your Oblivion folder. You can find it under the Steam / SteamApps / common.

Then open your Steam games library. Right click on "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" and select "Properties." In the "Updates" change the update setting "This game does not automatically". This will prevent the steam Nehrim files as a "foreign body" committed and overwrites.

Now from the Nehrim installer and choose as installation to any space on the hard disk.
WARNING: If you use Windows Vista or 7, then please do not install Nehrim in one of the program folder (Programs, Program Files, Program Files (x86) Program Files (x86)). Because of the Windows security checks because it can cause problems.

When the installation is complete, go to the folder where you have installed Nehrim. Copy and paste ALL of it into your Oblivion folder (Steam / SteamApps / common).

What I gather is that you should make a back-up copy of your stream folder then after you have installed Nehrim move it all you to your Oblivion stream folder so they are both in the same folder. Stream does not allow Nehrim to run from a separate folder.

As you also see they have a warning against installing Nehrim in the Program folders if you are using WindowS Vista or 7. So that could be the cause of some not being able to start Nehrim and it asked for the disk and can not find it.

From what I remember I know venders start selling higher rank or level spells but you also must be of a higher rank. In your diary there is a button to look at your spell rank. But translating and running through it I did not pay enough attention to it. Also you will find special items during quests. Like in RPG you take better items off the dead guys and from chest then buying it from merchants.

Hey, just a quick question. If I download and install Nehrim now will I have to reinstall the whole thing again with the English version? Or will the English version just be a patch over the original?

From what I understand about when the English version comes out it, you will have to download the whole thing again because it will have an English installer.

Okay guys, I have a problem. I fell into the cave and now my character can't move. Yes, my legs are moving, but I'm unable to advance to the troll. It's like an invisible wall is stopping me from leaving the small wooden platform you land on. Anyone else have this problem?

The installation program takes you from Nehrim most of the work from the. It automatically creates a copy of Oblivion-order and copies the Nehrim data in it. This is necessary because Nehrim a lot of files from your Oblivion mods and would otherwise overwrite. By Nehrim runs separately, you can switch between Oblivion and Nehrim at any time.

Hey guys, I'm trying to install the german version of the mod, but the installer just doesn't respond at all. When I double click it, I get nothing. Can anyone tell me what I should do?
