Nehrim finally coming out tomorrow

I'm going to be ornery.

Since so many are try to get past the troll I'm going to give you an English beginning ESP, so you know what you are doing. When the total English ESP is finished it. They said they will make it into a master and make an English installer.


Here a few steps for installing the German Nehrim.

Make sure when you install Nehrim it is in a separate directory then the Oblivion game. So if you have Bethesda\Oblivion. Nehrim can be in Bethesda\Nehrim. DO NOT put it in Bethesda\Oblivion\Nehrim!!!

The next screen you will get: you will see a bullet "Fur Nehrim benotigte Kopie des Oblbivion-Ordbers erstellen" that is fixed, the next two square boxes you can accept or not. First one is Desktop Icon, Second is Bonus material. Click "Weiter" and it will install. What it does is installs Nehrim and copies all of your oblivion directory into the Nehrim folder.

Next screen will be readme and Nehrim Launcher starten. Uncheck readme but then you should leave the other. It will open the another menu which will be for making sure the right data files are checked, click on Spieldateien, then another screen will come up click on Spieldateien again next screen should be Oblivion Data Files make sure Nehrim.esm and NehrimData.esp are the only ones checked. close all menus.

If you told it to make a desktop Icon click use it to start game. If it does not start or if you didn't tell it to make one - go to the SUREAI\Nehrim directory and use the NehrimLaucher.exe to start the game.

If you look in the Oblivon folder you should find two files Nerhim.esm and NerhimData.esp do not delete those files because they are used to trick Oblivion into using the files in the Nehrim folder.

If you are going to use my beginning English ESP which will get you to the Tirin Abby then MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TWO COPIES OF IT. Place one a copy it in both the Oblivion\data and SURAI\Nehrim\Data folders and MAKE sure you have it activated or else it will not work.

When you step out of the cave and want to change the depth of view. In your inventory - open your Journal\Diary click settings and turn it off.

Bring the Shovels to the guard next to the closed gate.. this should trigger the next event...


I already tried bringing them back to the guard, he doesn't take them or say anything different, but I see baddies outside now. Sorry I'm probably missing something really obvious here, but I've gotten a little tripped up.

Seigfried: Well the quest goes like this - you come back with the shovels just at the moment the mages are breaking through, so you're too late. Instead of delivering the shovels, you need to help the guards fight the mages. After that, you will be free to go through the gate (you should speak to Porim first, though, he'll ask you if you want to come with him to the Abbey, which is handy because he has a boat).

I have followed every step described here, but Nehrim still crashes on start up. It crashes before the intro movies and the main menu.. I have also tried to reinstall to different locations several times... :S

Try renaming your Oblivion.ini file (the path is C:\Documents and Settings\(your PC Name) My Documents\My Games\Oblivion). I was getting an error upon launch just like you describe. Just rename the current file and then when Nehrim launched it created a new copy of the file and the game is working fine.

Another user (papill6n) suggested this and it is working fine. By renaming your current .ini file you will keep your settings for your normal Oblivion game. When you decide to play that game, you will just have to remember to rename the Nehrim created one and then activate the other one.

It is out now! I may even not wait for the English edition and just download the German version! I'm ecsatic! :D

Maybe I should wait until the servers cool though. And I hope this mod recieves attention. It needs it!

I have a problem I'm on the part where you pick up a gear and when I walk on to that elevator thing nothing happens this is my second charactor and it worked for my first one(but it still took like 3 minutes of doing random things)so I know it is not a problem with how I installed Nehrim so I don't know what to do.

That is odd. I have not seen a post about that problem yet nor having to wait on either forum. You did click on the spot where you have to place it, right? I do know they have a patch for things that happen later but everyone should be able to get out of the cave without a problem.

The mages have just been standing around out in front, they haven't attacked or anything. I've tried shooting them through the wall but I can't damage them.

Just finished the mine with the English ESP. Thanks for that!

And wow. I am amazed by the size and quality of the mod. The dungeon alone was so big, and extremely beautifully made.

And the exterior is equally beautiful.

Gameplay is also awesome. I love the quests.
Any idea how much of the translation is finished? Just a tiny guess? :P
I can't wait.

When you pick up the gear you wll have to then find the activator to start the elevator.

To activate the elevator. Just go up the steps and click on the wheel activator along the wall and then jump on to the elevator to continue.

Golden Thief - thank you again for the English esp. It got me through the mine and out into the world and I understand the background for the story.


I am looking forward to the full English esp file. This mod is incredible. The mine was challenging but fun and now the outside world is amazing. In the miners camp and just starting some side quests while waiting for the gate to be opened. Nehrim is an enjoyable adventure so far!

I'm assume the door out towards where the black troll is still lock.
So, just to make sure. You have the 4 torches in your inventory and after picking them up did you get a journal update.

Where or how I can get teleportation stones to travel to the cities? I have some teleportation spells but I haven't seen the stones.

You must buy them from merchants that sell them. Basicly you get more information about them once you get to the Sanctum. They are not needed or used early in the game. You cannot teleport to a teleporter pad until you have found it.
You should try to get your level up to at least around 6-8 because the creatures get tougher. If you have a learning points find an instructor or trainer and add them to your abilities. Hope you used the one in Tirin Abby. Every time you level you get more learning points so visit the instructors you find often.

I have 4 torches and no new quest update and there are two doors the door leading back(the unlocked one)is the one that leads to the troll.
