And it will be so, so, so awesome.
I mean, have you seen the final trailer?! Those voice actors aren't *almost* professional, they are professional. The cutscenes, the locations, the story, everything looks so great and creative and inspired. I really can't wait for that mod, and I'll play it on my English Oblivion installation and I won't care about the mix of languages :D

Oh, I just saw that your blog both has the trailer and the information about the professional voice actors in it :o Well, whatever, NEHRIM YAY

Wow! :shocking:
That looks insane! I'm playing it somehow, even if I am forced to wait on the English version! Damn. I often wish my Dad had had a chance to teach me German before he passed...

Any chance of getting English subtitles while waiting for the English verison? Often, I actually prefer subtitled Anime vs dubbed unless it's extremely well done...

Would any bad things happen to your game if you play the German version on an English Oblivion install? (I have played a couple mods where some object names changed to German, but that's not too annoying, I suppose...)

It's really hard to see Oblivion underneath all of that. Hard to believe it's just a mod. I would guess at first glance it's another game.

Hopefully they're planning an English translation, maybe even with voice acting :)

Looks amazing but unfortunately I won't be able to run it on my computer. Apparently you need a computer that can very comfortably handle Open Cities as all the cities are open. That said, that is what I heard, it may or may not be the case.

Open cities shouldn't affect FPS at all really. I'm sure Arthmoor will also tell you this :P

Anywho, I wish I was German :(

This is great news. I have been keeping an eye on this project.
One of the mods that caught my breath and make me truly want to play it, since long time ago.

That trailer is amazing! Congrats to the team for the release. I'd be happy with just english subtitles, so I would know the story, and keep the original voices they sound awesome! Looking very forward to play.

Personally, I'd prefer to play this mod with English subtitles. I really enjoy watching foreign movies/TV (especially cartoons) with subtitles for the same reason: It's really, really interesting to see how different cultures match up characters to voices. On top of which, I like experiencing works of fine art (and yes, Nehrim falls into that category for me) in as close a form as possible to the original artist's vision, where that does not render them simply incomprehensible.

On a more practical level, the quality of the voice acting in German seems incredibly high. It's hard to imagine getting together a comparable voice team in English at any kind of short notice; never mind getting them all to good recording equipment.

I agree. I live in Norway, and here only children movies are dubbed, The rest is shown with subtitles, and it works well once you get used to it. So I much prefer a version with English subtitles than one far away on the horizon with English voice. I'd much rather see people with voicing talent help the original English mods.

As far as I can see the blog only says they're professional. So I assume normally they get paid for this sort of thing, but it's possible that they did it for free for this modding project. I don't know.

It's a total conversion, not an expansion. With this there isn't going to be a Cyrodiil so you won't be able to add this to a normal game. It's like a new game. ;)
