Nehrim + other mods?

Post » Sun Aug 22, 2010 1:09 pm

I was wondering, If I wanted to play Nehrim or some other HUGE Total Conversion how would I use it without uninstalling all my other mods? Would I be able to just uncheck all my other mods and just check Nehrim? and then when I want to play oblivion again just do the opposite?

I believe Nehrim has its own exe, so it can be played like it's completely seperate from Oblivion.

Yeah in WB you can set up different load orders and save and load them by right clicking the file header so you don't have to uninstall any mods.

Edit: But nehrim is a OB mod so it would require OB wouldn't it?

I've been wondering the same thing lately. I thought I remembered seeing a utility that could link mods to your saves (as in, your mods activate themselves according to what character you're using) but I can't remember which one it was.

Nehrim has it's own exe and installs it self separate from oblivion and copies the required resources from into it's own folder.

When I said: "and then when I want to play oblivion again just do the opposite?" I meant play oblivion without the total conversion Nehrim. I sorta think of Nehrim as another game just because it is soo different.

I believe Nehrim has its own Exe, so it can be played like it's completely separate from Oblivion.

But doesn't it still install it to the same place as other mods?

Does that mean that you can't run mods along with it though?

Edit:
@saint777 I was directing that comment at the greatness :P (I was unaware that mods could run from exes )

oh. cool. thanks. Well that pretty much answers my question but now I wanna ask this question that Brosk asked: Does that mean that you can't run mods along with it though?

I think it leaves an esm and esp in the Oblivion folder, but you never need to activate them. I suspect what the Nehrim exe does is activate these mods on loading and then deactivate them on closing so you don't have to, but I'm not sure because I've never used it (Nehrim that is).
