How the hell do i get through the artillery field?

Did you buy the note from the guy standing on the road before you get there ? Itll tell you how to get passed it. Basicly once you get to the houses, take an imediate left and stay along the mountain walls. Once you get to the point in the wall where the shell keep hitting on top and not you, just stand there for a little bit and shelling will stop and just run alongside the fence and they wont be shooting you anymore

The commonly accepted way is to hug the rock wall on the left and dash like a madman till you make it to the fence. You might want to leave your companions behind for it though. There is also a back door through a train tunnel to the south but you need 100 lockpick skill and the ability to deal with or avoid several deathclaws.

I did fine doing as the note says. I went from ruined house to house, it seems like the shells won't hit inside the ruined buildings, also if you wait a while the shelling will stop for a bit, that's when you move to the next house or to the fence for the base.
