Nellis Convention

The Nellis Convention

Graciously hosted by the honorable Boomers of Nellis Air Force Base!

It has been six months since the second battle for Hoover Dam. The Courier realized that the only alleigance worth his trust, is that of himself. He defeated both the Legion and NCR at Hoover Dam, sent Oliver home in disgrace, killed Lanius, and killed Mr. House. The NCR has lost some of its' former strength, but assumes that
Spoiler
the nuke (the courier nuked both the NCR and Legion)
was a legion tactic. The Courier has called forth a convention for the different representatives of the Mojave to prove their worth to him, and to try to fortify and advance the Mojave.

Outcomes of New Vegas:

1. The Courier finished an Indy Playthrough at Hoover Dam. He activated the army at the fort, and used them to destroy Fortification Hill before becoming Vegas Security.
4. The Followers of the Apocalypse receive a larger influx of patients after the Second Battle for hoover Dam.
5. The Great Khans quickly evacuated red rock canyon, and headed north, and east, into the plains of the Wyoming. There, they carved a mighty empire from the help of the Followers.
6. Independent Goodsprings thrives from more traders heading to-and-from the Strip.
7. A cure for the Nightkin schizofrenia was found, and Jacobstown became a haven for any mutant who wanted peace.
8. The Kings, having established a truce with NCR, secure Freeside and make it one of the safer places to live in Independent Vegas.
9. Lily continued to take her medicine at half dozes, and headed west seeking the remnants of her past.
10. Despite NCR's loss at Hoover Dam, the Misfits distinguished themselves and received an official commendation.
11. The Powder Gangers at NCRCF were massacred by the Courier, and the NCRCF became an abandoned ruin.
12. Post-Hoover Dam II, the Bright Followers returned from their journey to help Novac remain Independent of NCR.
13. The Vault 13 Powder Gang joined the Great Khans, and left Red Rock Canyon with them to build a new Empire. Those who were too weak to join scattered out into the Wasteland.
14. Meyers becomes the Sheriff of Primm, and runs it with a fronteir style of justice.
15. The Rangers distinguish themselves during Hoover Dam II, but fail to defend it due to the Courier's interference. Hanlon becomes the Senator of Redding.
16. Raul becomes a Ghost Vaquero, who hunts down those who prey on the weak.
17. The Enclave Remnants fight at Hoover Dam alongside the NCR against the Legion. They win against the Legion then, in turn, betray the NCR for the Courier's sake, and disappear as quickly as they came. Legends of their power spread throughout the southwest.
18. Rey's brain settled peacefully into Rex's cybernetic body.
19. Arcade Gannon does his best to tend to the citizens of Freeside after fighting at the Second Battle of Hoover Dam with the Enclave Remnants.
20. Tabitha and Rhonda have adventures in Caesar's Land, and stories concerning the duo were collected and published, and proved to be quite popular with children.
21. The Boomers continue to scare off rivals from Nellis, but remain constant allies to the Courier.
22. Even though NCR was withdrawing from New Vegas, Boone became a Caravan Guard and Scout. He couldn't bring himself to abandon the city where he'd met his wife.
23. The Brotherhood of Steel retake HELIOS One, and still remain friends with the Courier, who is a Knight amongst their ranks
24. Cass used evidence of the Crimson Caravan/Van Graff plan to blackmail them, and the NCR became stronger from this move.
25. ED-E remained a constant and vigilant protector of the Courier, and helped the Followers of the Apocalypse recover valuable information about Poseidon Energy, improving the quality of life in New Vegas.
26. With Violet, Cook-Cook, Driver Nephi, and Motor Runner dead, the Fiends come to an end. The remaining Fiends were easy prey.
27. Veronica stays with the Brotherhood of Steel, and hesitantly accepts their agressive approach to the outside world.
EXTRA: The Legion still has a foothold in Arizona and New Mexico, but their numbers wane, and without help, they will crumble in less than a decade. Hence, they have decided to attend the convention.

Rules:

1. Be formal! If you want your point to get across, you don't want it to be in childish script (which is quite hard to read).
2. If you have never done a convention before, it might be a good idea to let the people who are experienced with post first, so that there is a guideline for you.
3. Don't get into real fights with people. This is a diplomatic discussion, so that means that the Legion can't just claim to attack someone's town.
4. No god-modding please. I don't want someone to simply be able to say "I'm g0nna conqu3r your cities if you d0n't g1ve m3 mon3ys."
5. Some people in here are quite casual about it, and are busy in their real lives, so no one is expected to post more than they can.
6. No DLC spoilers, please. There are a number of people who haven't done the DLC.

Notes:

-This section is in the "General Discussion" for now, but chances are it will be moved to "Artwork and Fan Faction". I'm putting it here so it can gain a bit of recognition so we can fill a few more spots.
-This is a completely new line of conventions and does not apply to any of the older conventions we have been doing.

-If you want to discuss something largely off-topic but about the convention, post here: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1366949-convention-designing/

Paladin-Captain Odair

*The Paladin, flanked by two initiates, enters the room. He signals for the initiates to wait outside. He notices a long row of couches and armchairs, and then notices a comfortable-looking armchair with the Brotherhood of Steel logo on it. He takes a seat and lays his gauss rifle on the coffee-table placed in front of the armchair in front of him.

To his surprise, the room is surprisingly empty, except for two figures. At the very end of the row of couches and chairs, he notices that two men are sitting on armchairs next to each other, facing him between the two rows. He smiles, knowing that the figure on the left is the Courier. Yes, Odair knows him. After all, the Courier had joined the Brotherhood ranks. He isn't very visible, though. He wears a particularly fancy suit, with a pre-war hat on his head and sunglasses that covers his eyes. The man next to the Courier is wearing an interesting duster. It is torn, dirty, and Odair ponders why he wore such a poor outfit to a convention such as this one. The man is African-American, with interesting braids in his hair. He has no idea who this is, but the fact that he is sitting next to the courier means he must be quite important. Odair smiles*

"Good morning".

*Odair has faced a long journey from Hidden Valley to Nellis, and since the room is currently empty, he lays back, and falls asleep.*

Senior Khan-Imam the 2nd

*Imam enters the room with the help of an assistant. Taking his place in the Khan's armchair; he looks up and notices who he presumes to be the representative for the Brotherhood of Steel, Imam looks at him curiously. He had heard of the Brotherhood but had never seen one in the flesh, smiling weakly he coughs and reaches into his leather vest, and pulls out a large piece of parchment. Noticing that only the Courier, the Brotherhood representative, a strange man in a torn duster, and himself are present he begins to read over the document. Written on it are his two proposals for the convention, as he settles in to study the document he feels a wave of tiredness. Rubbing his eyes he tries his best to stay awake, its been a long journey from Wyoming to Nellis--nearly 850 miles. Feeling the exhaustion becoming more and more persuasive Imam places the parchment on the coffee table and allows himself a few minutes of much needed rest.*

Omerta Don-Andrew Matthews

?*Matthews walks into the convention room with a Omerta goon bodyguard, Matthews is dressed in a jet-black pin-striped suit with a matching pre-war hat and smokes a cigar. Heedless of the rest of the other two delegates, he stands by a chair which his bodyguard pulls out for him and sits down. The Bodygaurd stands behind his left shoulder dressed in a grimy-pre-war business suit and a 10mm SMG at his side.*

*Matthews folds his hands in front of him, takes a long draw from his cigar and exhales the smoke, which wafts across the area around him. He then takes the cigar from his mouth for a moment.*

Good evening gentlemen.

*With a smirk he places the cigar back into a mouth and looks around the room with a slightly amused grin.*

The Lobotomite - Ambassador of Black Mountain

*Lobo crouches through a door too small for his massive frame. As the door closes, another Nightkin and a Centaur can be seen waiting outside. Lobo sees a couch with the words 'Black Mountain' written on a sign in beside it. Before he reaches it he removes the large Bumper Sword from his back and sits down, only then does he choose to take note of the humans in the room.*

*Lobo looks around slowly without saying a word, notices the Courier and stares at him. The Courier stares right back.*

*After a few moments the mutant gives a nod, the Courier nods back and Lobo says these two words in a voice that is unusually calm and intelligible for a Nightkin.*

"Good evening."

Arclight808 - Chief of Operations, Group of Studies and Observations, Crimson Caravan Eastern Division

*Enters the room briskly, loosely but rather obviously tailed by several plainclothes security types who keep close enough to protect their Principal.*

*Looks around the room for the placard with his name on it, spots, it and takes his seat.*

"Hello, everyone. Myself and the shareholders of the Crimson Caravan Company have several queries for the New California Republic and the Mojave's new government regarding the legal status of the government in New Vegas and continued operations of Crimson Caravan in the Mojave, whenever you're ready."

Representative Raynor Johnson of the Gun Runner Mojave branch.
Walking into the room with one heavily armored body guard armed with a assault rifle, Raynor Johnson sits down in the appropriate chair, takes up a 9mm and starts taking it apart and put it together again.

''Lets get down to business gents,'' He says, after holstering his fully modified 9mm.

Represenative Captain Conners- leader of the Boomers 1st Diplomat Company.
*Walks into room and gives a crisp military salute to the other represenatives*
"I'm sorry I'm late to the meeting but we have been very busy here at Nellis."
*Sits down but still in military fashion.*

Alan Sutler - Acting President of the United States of America

*As the ancient bulkhead door ground on it's hinges and emitted a grating sound, three figures entered the large hanger. Two soldiers of the U.S. Army, clad in Advanced Power Armour and both scanning the cavernous room through the sights of M72, semi-automatic, Gauss Rifles; they both flanked a rather tall and lean figure whom silently bid them leave before marching towards the gathering. The man was clearly in his late-50's, bespectacled and beneath his cap his smoothed black hair was streaked with silver and his trimmed black mustache gave him an underdeserved aura of sophistication - almost like the late Mr House; with every step, medals could be heard be chink together beneath his coat. He cast his eyes around the room and it's currently few occupants.

"Acting President of the United States Alan Sutler, speaking on behalf of the American people." He announced, to no-one in particularly, in a barking voice.

*Aside from a look of distain given to the sleeping Brotherhood of Steel Paladin, Sutler gives no other indications; He removed his coat too sit down. The uniform itself told more about the man than he had given away, two rows of medals - multiple Purple Hearts and distinguished service crosses - the Medal of Honour worn around his neck; the insignia on his shoulder denoted the rank of Colonel and tabs on his left arm indicated that he was both a trained "Ranger" and a "President's Pistol", making him one of the finest marksman in the Army. He sits without saying a word, merely looking around and waiting for the arrival of others and the start of the Convention proper; he makes note however to cast a scathing glance at the ruiner of his vengeance, the organiser of the event himself - the Courier - whom was sat at the head of the proceedings with a savage looking African-American.

Sammy Rallo, Chairmen Rep.

*The door bursts open and a suave individual enters, champagne bottle in one hand and glasses in the other, wearing a crisp white suit.*

"Ring-a-ding, baby! Sammy's bringin' the good stuff!"

* As he sat on a long couch, opposite the Omerta Don, he made sure to give his business competitor a wink, receiving a bloodthirsty grimace in return. To the trained eye, one could see the outline of a pistol tucked in Sammy's suit and a switchblade in his shoe. *

"Why the long faces, huh? Relax! Have a drink or two!"

His sentiment was not shared in the room. Most in the room were either ignoring him, or giving their best threatening looks.

"Well, if it's that way, fine by me."

Omerta Don-Andrew Matthews

*Matthews watches as the both Sutler and Rallo enter the room. He casts a quick glance at Sutler and raises his eyebrow briefly before turning to the Chairmen Rep with a grimace which slowly turns into a slightly forced smile.*

*He speaks in a rather calm and reserved voice.*

Ah, Sammy my boy. How goes it on your end of the strip? The Tops is treating the Chairmen well I would imagine?

James Turner - The Kings

* As the convention begins to start up, a trio of men walk through the doors. Between two men in dirty t-shirts and jeans stands the Kings' ambassador to the Mojave, James Turner. Flicking the butt of his cigarette behind him, he scans the room, nodding in the Courier's direction before draping his leather jacket over his chair and taking a seat.

"Alright boys, what've you lot got for the Kings today?"

OOC: As luck would have it, my laptop broke this morning, so I'm typing this up from my iPod (very nice mobile site this place has btw). As such, my posts may not be as lengthy as they should be. "May not", since you can't underestimate how much time I've got to burn.

Robin Van Graff - The Van Graffs

Good afternoon everyone, I hope we can try and be civil this time. I have many business deals to conclude, so while I was be as helpful as I can be, time is money, people. I trust that we can all come to an amicable settlement for the advancement of the Mojave region. And, of course, for the Van Graffs.

Omerta Don- Andrew Matthews

*Matthews looks disdainfully as James Turner enters the room and sits down.*

*He then turns his glance away and towards the other end of the table. Attempting to ignore Turner.*

Just letting any rat off the street attend this are they?

*Exhales a final puff of smoke and then puts out his cigar in the nearest ashtray.*

In any case, my first piece of business is with the Gun-runners. Mr. Johnson, I assume our usual shipment of weapon supplies and ammo is on schedule?

*glances towards the Courier*

Of course, nothing but our usual allowed armaments for personal protection. Side arms and the like.

(ooc: I'm assuming the families of the strip probably get most of their weapons from the gun-runners and already have contracts with them.)

Centurion Azmond of Caesar's Legion

*The door opens and Azmond has to lower himself to get under it, he is wearing Armor made from his fallen enemies. The armor looks decayed and rusted, it has been through alot. Azmond himself although looks as if the Mojave has never touched him. He spots his chosen place and views up the other members of the Convention, he is clearly disgusted he has to sit down with these people but he says nothing and gently sits down. He sets his Thermic lance down on the table hoping to intimidate everyone in the room.*

"I am here as requested, I normally wouldn't be sitting down with you or even communicating with you whatsoever, although since the circumstances are most unfortunate, I have decided to come to this 'Convention'." "The others better not keep me waiting long".

*Azmond slightly relaxes himself and fixes his eyes on the Courier, not forgetting what he did to the Legion.

OOC: My internet connection right now is more than annoying me right now and it's a miracle it stayed on long enough for me to post this. So expect posts to be less frequent untill i get it fixed. (P.S) Also just noticed nobody picked NCR. Heh.

Raynor looks at Matthews with a obviously fake smile.
''We have been having a few problems with satisfying all our contacts lately, but your shipment should be due in a few days.''
He scratched his head.
''Although due to our problems, we will have to demand 20% more caps for it.''

Looking at the Courier with a serious look, he then smiled again with his fake smile and continued:
''The Battle at Hoover Dam did damage the NCR forces, and along with that, our contact with the California branch is temporary down. NCR was our biggest customer, so therefore we lost most of our money making here in the Mojave since their forces are depleting.''

Raynor, taking a whiskey bottle from his reinforced leather jacket, and nearly emptied it.
''Now back to business, what we kinda need right now is to expand, so we can cover all the orders and make up for the money loss after most of the NCR forces retreated to California. We were thinking of setting shop at the former NCRCF, but we would need protection.''
He looks straight at the Ambassador of Primm, Mr.Henderson, and smiles.
''We are willing to give Primm a small percent if they in turn protect us, when we set shot there. That way we can use it and supply the rest of the south Mojave with guns and ammo. Lets say 10% shall we Henderson?''

"I have a counter - offer, You come set up with the Legion and we protect you free of charge, ofcourse all we ask for you to supply our troops every so often."
"This is an offer only a fool would turn down, think carefully about this".

Jacobstown Representative - Neil

*Neil ducks through the small doorway, the Rebar Club strapped to his back bumping the door frame as he walked in. He sees a couch labeled "Jacobstown" next to a couch with a Nightkin sitting on it. He recognized the Nightkin as Lobo, whom he had known from Black Mountain. Neil sat down on his couch and gave a friendly nod to Lobo.*

"Hello everyone, and thank you for the invitation to this convention. I hope we can make some progress here, and when everyone arrives I have an announcement to make."

*Neil leans back in his seat and looks around, observing the other representatives.*

"We were planning on converting the NCRCF to its former purpose so I must decline your offer, however The Bison Steve hotel is unoccupied so we can offer you that, it is just opposite our casino which will guarantee plenty of business, it is also very large so will be useful for storage. Raynor Johnson pulled up his gun with a hasty move, then started polishing it. Then looking at the big Centurion with a thoughtful look, he then replies: ''Thats a fine offer...'' He suddenly stops to finish whats left of the liquid in his small whiskey bottle. ''Where is your camp located, i will have to think about it, if Henderson doesnt give a better offer for protection. We need a good remote location.''

*Looking at the super mutant that just came in with his Rebar Club and friendly spirit, Raynor nodded at the newcomer.
''Niel, some of ''your'' mutants were looking for a supplier for heavy weapons, and they told me to look for you for payment. Are you willing to bargain a deal?''

Raynor looked serious at the super mutant, then said something to the bodyguard next to him, in which the bodyguard went outside the hangar to come back with another bottle of whiskey.

Raynor nodded.
''Im guessing we have to decline your offer then Centurion. We might be willing to work some deal out.''
He then drank a little, and replied to Henderson: ''Im guessing your not offering out of the goodness of your hearth. We will pay our taxes of what we sell, how much are we talking about Mr.Henderson?''
