Neravarine Custom Class

Post » Tue Feb 08, 2011 11:54 am

I was told I would have a better chance of getting anything accurate about this if I tried the Lore forum.

I'm attempting to build a Nerevarine custom class, for Morrowind. I was just wondering, what skills should I pick for this class. I want it to be accurate to what the actual Indoril Nerevar would have used, such as weapons, armor, magic, and other skills. I looked on the wiki, but there was not alot of info in that depth.
This is a suggestion I have gotten, yet I am still looking for suggestions.

Heres the class i would use to be as accurate as i could be (not necessairly playable).
Favored
Spec:combat
Atr: Willpower, Strength
Majors:
Long Blade (trueflame)
Speechcraft (Hes a general, I'd assume he was well spoken He led armies)
Medium Armor
Light Armor (depictions of nerevar either have him in netch armor or indoril armor)
Block (true flame was 1 handed)

Minors:
Acrobatics (I assume to be the greatest dunmer warrior he was fit)
Athletics
Short Blade (goes along with long blade)

I feel there is something missing.Does anyone have any suggestions?

He used axes in the sermons, along with swords (long). Definitely speechcraft, as he seemed legendary for convincing people to join him. And that is all I remember from the history books and sermons.

His patron/God was Azura. Various sources have him summoning Azura for advice, so conjuration could work. That's all that immediately jumps out at me.

If you're going by what's in the Sermons then the above advice is good.

If you're going for tangible gameplay mechanics, you're going to end up using three powerful artifacts - a Short Blade, a Blunt Weapon, and a piece of Heavy Armor. The Nerevarine apparently differs from Nerevar himself in the skills he will use. You'll also collect many Enchanted items during the course of play, especially from bosses in latter half of the MQ.

Remember that the whole point of Reincarnation is that while you may or may not be a returned hero, you're also your own person with your own unique life and set of skills. The Nerevarine doesn't have to be like Nerevar, nor does he have to be proficient in any of the skills I named. Having a high combat and/or magicka proficiency would certainly help the Nerevarine on his or her quest though.

It's almost like a roleplay for me I guess, completeing the MQ as the true reincarnation or Lord Indoril Nerevar.

I have even come up with a few names I liked, that I haven't been able to decide from.

Indorai'el Nerevaine
Indorin Nerevaine
Inoril Nerevaine

These three names came from about 40 that I brainstormed up. As you can see I am giving him a similar sounding first name, and a last name that is similar to Nerevar.

This is what I have so far.

Specialization: Combat Favorite Attributes: Strength and Willpower
Major Skills: Longblade, Medium (or light) armor, Speechcraft, Athletics.
Minor Skills: Shortblade, Acrobatics, Blunt (or Axe), Armorer (for the hell of it).

I'm not sure yet what to use for other major and minor skills.
And I really need to figure out a good birthsign. I doubt it says Nerevar's birthsign anywhere in the lore books, but I'd like one that fits.

See, it really doesn't make sense to have his name be any variation of Indoril Nerevar. He's clearly an outlander, even if he's a Dark Elf. He would have been born in Cyrodill or some other province and shipped to Morrowind via prison boat. If you want to roleplay as the Nerevarine you have to keep in mind that he would have been named by his parents.

I suppose you could say Azura came into their dreams and influenced the name, though. That MAY work. But hat wouldn't work is a guy calling himself "Indoril Nerevar" walking around in Morrowind. That's extremely suspicious and you'd be thrown in jail for blasphemy most likely.

As for the skills they seem fine. Nerevar was a warrior, a general, and a diplomat. I might replace Armorer with Mysticism since he was known to communicate with Azura a lot. Give him a little magic to raise that Willpower stat. Restoration would also be a good choice to raise Willpower and to supplement his melee skills.

It's not the same name. It's distinctively different, just similar sounding though. That is how I'm rp'ing it.

It would still raise eyebrows IMO. It would be like naming yourself J. Esus Chris or something lol

Here's my set up:

Sign: Either the Thief or the Tower. Which do you think?

Att: Endurance(will be god in later game, so should have high health.) , Personality(he is a wawyer-pot after all.)

Maj: Spear(So as to wield muatra and bellydance with skill.), Speechcraft(He's not a wawya pot for nothing.), Light armor(chitin seems to be what he is wearing ingame.), Enchant(so we can add a bit to that chitin armor so it isn't as completely useless later on in the game.). Illusion(You're not Vehk if you can't trick people.)

Min: Destruction. Alteration. Restoration. Mysticism, Conjuration

EDIT: or just make another juggalo character like a player

Hell, Vivec becomes slowly more annoying than the Adoring Fan...

... by Muatra, by Muatra, by Muatra ... (no comment)

Well... now then, there's a faction + skills for the Nerevarine in the CS. Perhaps they resemble the skills Nerevar had.

It may be the lore forum, but this topic is about one specific section of the lore, namely the Neravarine, and Indoril Nerevar.

You guys have all been a great help. I will be creating this character either tonight or tomorrow. This is what I decided to go with.

I am still on the fence with the name.

Race: Dunmer (Or Altmer, since depictions of Nerevar show him with Golden Skin.)
Sign: The Warrior
Class Nerevar Incarnate
Specialization: Combat
Fav. Attributes: Strength and Endurance
Major Skills:
Long Blade
Medium Armor
Block
Speechcraft
Spear

Minor Skills:
Athletics
Blunt Weapon
Mysticism
Armorer
Mercantile (Goes with Speechcraft)

Well thats it. Spent a week thinking about this, and I am satisfied with the outcome. Once again thank you all for you're input. Especially those in the Lore Forum.
