For some reason, I heard you say that in Sheogorath's voice.

"Wait, scratch that! Cheese for no one! That can be just as much of a celebration if you don't like cheese, can't it?"

I'm glad that relationships seem to be more fleshed out than Fable.

I'd love to come home after a few days of adventuring. My spouse cooking up something healthy inside, my toothy compadre relaxing in the yard.

I really hope the game can paint this picture for me. :)

Of course nothing ever lasts forever... Pictures become washed out and eventually fade.

Like when I get infected with Porphyric Hemophilia after a few days in the void. I change of course, unbeknownst to my dear lover and loyal friend. And then in the cloak of night, while the beast slumbers in my neglected Nirnroot garden and the soft, succulent, morsel dreams of children and moving to the Capital, I strike. Nothing against them, in fact I loved them. Even as I drained them in their sleep--never letting them fully wake--I thought only of how I couldn't let them live without me. Peaceful. Humane. As humane as an inhuman can be, in fact. And I'll never forget them. Their blood will be with me forever and ever and ever...

PS. I wonder if we can turn our spouse into a vampire.

That... is both horrific and kinda awesome at the same time. Kinda summed up by your avatar really.

Still, i'll take the first sentence. The rest i'll pass on. =P

I'm looking forwards to the spouses. Modding will take it far, and i'll enjoy every step.

I wonder if they will be set as essential, otherwise i can see Dovahkiin being on his 99th wife by the time he gets to Alduin.

*You see a large Dragon descend*
*Mrs Dovahkiin attacks Dragon with meat cleaver and pot on her head*
*Dragon breathes..*
*Mrs Dovahkiin screams and pirouettes in a flaming mass*
*Dovahkiin looks down at deceased wife*

"Time for that Barmaid then.."

Hmmm, seems yet again that significant other is being equated with servant, or sadly worse, expendable.

Spouses are immune to silence.
Spouses won't let you keep your dog.
Spouses get half of your coffers in a divorce.

In Oblivion I went out of my way to save people like Baurus or Jauffre.
I can imagine Ill try even harder to save my lover if one is adventuring with me.
I just hope they have a sense of self-preservation.

100s of people you can marry!

1 line of dialogue between them... "I saw a mudcrab yesterday. Nasty creatures!"

I wont have any romance unless its a character I can actually converse with.

If Companions are anything like the DB/Mages Guild/Warriors Guild followers in Oblivion, we may well have to. Okay they can easily be modded to essential for PC but it`s consoles i`m thinking about.

Yup, this seals what I had expected from spouses... a glorified pet mod. No dynamics in the relationship at all. The spouse has no will, desires, input into the relationship whatsoever.. oh except for cooking your meals lol.

I seriously would have loved few NPC marraige choices if that meant deeper dynamics in the relationship would have been developed.

I feel inclined to agree with you, but if they had spent the time to make marriages as unique as you would like it would most likely take away from one of the more important aspects of the game like combat and skills. I'm perfectly happy with what it is.

So now I wonder... If all these "hundreds" of NPC's that you can marry basically become companions afterwards. Will they still be able to be my companion if I want to be "just friends?" Or will there be different NPC's who become "friend" companions?

Even if the relationship is not all that deep, it's just the first truly step of Bethesda in this area, so I would expect some tweaking made by patches, DLC or even in the Elder Scrolls VI...

I think that in some gameplay show or interview the Developers said that there will be "befriend-able" NPCs.

Yeah, they have said you will be able to become friends with NPCs, then they won't mind if you take an apple, or crash at their place for the night. But they have been somewhat vague as to the number of companions. Hopefully all of these NPCs you can marry, will become companions once you have become their friend. Then if you want to take it to the next level you can... Though I doubt I will.

That will be a very interesting companion system. If it is in, I wonder how it would go

I can't wait to send my husband shopping and cooking, lol.

It would be good if the bonuses differed according to your spouse's gender, like a husband could do smithing rather than cooking like a wife does.

FRICK... what are these 'lover's bonuses?'

breaking it down:

No sixual animations

I'm sure it won't take long for josh to port his animated prostitution mod into skyrim xD although I won't be using it.

Well, you do have to wear that amulet to signify you are interested in taking things further. Other than that? Who knows
