Nerf Guns

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 5:36 pm

I just completely destroyed my Recon trying to modify it. It turns out that gun isn't suited to such adjustments. So I'm in the market for a new one, preferably 30 dollars or less and easy to mod. One of my friends suggested the http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=nerf+alpha+trooper&cp=6&qe=bmVyZiBh&qesig=_kv0dj2faX8cFyHgzChNfA&pkc=AFgZ2tk13Jwf3PmeSsNZeOdo_k4qLybFrnj8GOuMGJ7-g9807v8356GH2h963R-gNVNxtslOCm3FpWJeXYbepK4z9kBJ46zyyg&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1440&bih=785. But what does the BGSF have to say on such matters? I'm sure there are at least a few Nerf gun experts here.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to extend the discussion a bit as well. What are your favorite Nerf guns? Has anyone modded theirs beyond recognition? Do you have any tales of epic battles with friends?

(I looked to see if there was another Nerf gun thread (I vaguely remember one), but searching for the word "Nerf" on a video game forum unsurprisingly brings up a lot of results about World of Warcraft and Starcraft II patches. Sorry if there is one in existence).

Don't know any specifics, but we have had epic wars at my friends house. We did 2v2 and my brother was a ninja on his own team. We did 1 minute respawns. In order to win, your team had to have the other three dead at once. It ended with my partner killing one of the other team as he came through a door to where they had us pinned down. The other teammate and I got into a firefight with him behind a chair, me behind a stool. My teammate went to move up and charge him when the other guy decided to turn and run. My brother came diving over a couch and through the door to stab him with a sword. My teammate and I walked up and shot my brother to win. It was awesome.

My brother's girlfriend got him the http://www.hasbro.com/nerf/en_US/shop/details.cfm?guid=5C7A77E6-19B9-F369-10F7-51414DF5A649&product_id=27419&src=http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1159652-nerf-guns/endeca and an extra ammo belt for Christmas this year. It's our first run in with anything Nerf in over 10 years, and he definitely made up for that lost time pretty quickly.

I think they make Nerf guns now that are to be modded, no? I think I saw it on a commercial once.

They have guns with universal parts that can be taken off and put on to other guns, but most of them are useless. I mean modding in a sense of taking out the air restrictor or replacing a spring so that the gun can shoot a dart more than 10 feet.

And you broke it from doing that. They say "do not modify" for a reason.

I'm not really sure which gun it was, but at a friend's house over the holidays her little brother had nerf rifle that had shot about 50 feet. It was bolt action, the back of the rifle held two magazines, and it had a little attachment so you could attach to magazines together bottom to bottom so you could reload it faster. It had a longer barrel you could screw on the front. Anyway, it shot very far, unmodded, and was just plain fun with the bolt action.

It was the Nerf Longshot on this page:

Apparently it can be modded?

The closest I've come to a Nerf war was a little shootout at my friend's house during a birthday sleepover ( :/ ).

I have to say, it was poo, but then he only had poo guns.

same here. We got into an epic all out battle in the rain at a camp I went to. it was all pistols, and only masks. Each team gathered at the opposite ends of the field, and just charged at each other. It was awesome. It hurt because of the mixture of the airsoft bbs and the cold, but it was worth it. Then airsoft got banned from the camp when someone in my cabin decided to shoot a guy point blank in the eye... :glare:

idiot...

I remember when Nerf guns were just little pistols that you had to load an individual dart into every time you wanted to shoot.

Now they've got them to resemble sniper rifles, heavy MGs, given them revolving barrels, and rapid fire SMG type ones.

People above the age of kids are actually serious about nerf guns? I thought that was a kid's game.

Wait. You can modify Nerf guns? Really? My step son and I have nerf wars sometimes and I never knew you could mod them. Tell me more about this.

I need an advantage against him. He has both of the machine gun ones. I have the Recon CS6 I think its called.
