Nerf the SCAR

If youve played MP im sure youve noticed that 90% of players use the SCAR and only the SCAR, and why wouldnt they? its a machine gun sniper rifle. And also what is the point of shooting from the hip? The whole game should be in Ironsights only.

It doesnt need nerfed. Everything else just needs to be a little better.

SCAR is fine, SMGs/shotguns beat it at close range, snipers beat it at long range, LMGs beat it at medium range. The SCAR is a generalist, most of the other weapons are somewhat specialised. That is why most people use the SCAR.

And LOL at 'the game should be ironsights only'. That would be completely retarded, not to mention being unrealistic in ANY close range combat situation. Hipfire is a must in any FPS.

SCAR is OP compared to other rifles. They need to be adjusted.

Just look at the damage stats: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=14357

It only takes 1 second more for the SCARAB to win cqb assuming ALL bullets hit. But SCAR total damage output is much greater with LESS spread. It is balanced when each player is standing still, but ts obvious thats not what what a player is going to do.

The damage gap isn't enough in the medium range for the SCARAB to be as versatile as it is supposed to be and the GRENDEL only comes slightly ahead in the medium range. Why bother using a GRENDEL with the slight damage output boost with its huge disadvantage of cqb burst fire?

The SCAR is fine. Leave the SCAR as it is. It definitely does not need to be nerfed. Maybe some of the other weapons need to be made a little better.

Aren't most people using the Scar because not many people have other ARs unlocked yet?

I think the shotgun is slightly weak atm but that's it.

Yep - in rifles line the Scar is only weapon that seems to be fine. Grendel is total fail, while SCRAB even though it's suppose to be better (a successor of SCAR) is actually worse in any conditions.
So my hint would be: Fix all the other rifles, leave SCAR as it is.

The SCARAB isn't a successor, it's a carbine variant of the SCAR. Higher RoF, lower accuracy.

I think they should tweek the damage output of SMG up a little bit (not too much) and the marshall shotgun should have a little more range and have more bullets fired per shot, so that you can at least hit someone with it.

As others have mentioned in this thread, the SCAR is so widely popular because:

1) It is a general purpose gun
2) It is the default unlock

Other guns have specific uses that you can build your module setup around, SCAR seems to be very generic in nature.

Think about what you say. This isn't an ordinary FPS where you go down 3hits, you wear a NANOSUIT 2.0, which has great defense powers even without armor mode.. I'd like to see the players live a long time and only go down fast if 3 of one team shoot at him at the same time! That would be teamplay and nothing like "Hahaha, I give you 3hits with SCAR and you die, I am famous!!" - Remember - We aren't just some Marines, we are post-human warriors! And where's the logic in that, if we only have some "advanced" stealth and a bit of armor? Think about it : POST-HUMAN WARRIOR!

People who think you don't die quickly in Crysis 2 (assuming they haven't considerably buffed health since the demo) haven't played Quake 3.

People just like to complain when they die. It is in every single fps forum everywhere. There is so many different options/tactics to how you can play. A single gun is not the reason you are getting killed.

As the above said "you wear a Nanosuit"... use it

I found this game to be pretty balanced for the most part. Simple point and click at one another like most fps is not the case while wearing a nanosuit... For some odd reason people forget that. Use the nanosuits different mods and watch your power remaning.

As far as dying goes.. this is again to do with the suit..I die alot faster in other fps games like bf, cod etc. So many people do not use the suit fully..

The SCAR is suppose to be a Jack of all Ace of none, I think it is a little closer to a Queen or a King than a Jack. The scar is extremely versatile, that is great that is how AR are suppose to be, the issue comes when you combine that versatility with the nano suit, mobility and stealth. Most of the kills in a match come from flanking a enemy via stealth or positioning(via suit mobility). The scar gives the player a largest effective range in which if they find and flank an enemy they are successfully get a kill. The SCAR doesn't have any auto lose situations like most of the other weapons do, and because Crysis 2 is a dynamic game in nature your situation is constantly changing, so the SCAR becomes a very good weapon. I don't see the need for SCAR to have a single shot option that increase the damage it deals per bullet .

SCAR is just fine and a good weapon , dosent need to make anything on that , and the reason that all uses scar is because you got it from the start of the game :P there are much better weapons than scar to unlock out there

All ironsights was sarcasm at work. its just that 90% of killcams are in ironsights because it is the best even at close range. But i have seen people shoot across the map with the scar where the Grendel just fails at that. Some people obviously take these forums a little too seriously.
