Never getting any other Bethesda game ever again!

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 3:35 pm

I got my copy of Fallout 4 today and I was really disappointed to see only one disc. I suspected that they probably compressed this game at least but no, the disc installed only 5 gigs of the 24 gigs that this game consists of! Bethesda said there will be a partial steam download well [censored]! It's way too much for [censored] sakes!

[Edit]

I might have overreacted XD but theres a good reason... I've been hoping for an upcoming fallout game ever since i thought about a possible sequel to FO3 back in 2013. It happened and i bought it and i did not expect to wait even longer than i have to. But it doesn't matter, ill be playing this game tomorrow. ETA 22 hours.

Ok good for you then. Did you have to make a new user just to say that? Or will you contribute something helpful on the forums later on? or this the typical whine and cry post because you didn't get one aspect of what you wanted? Not trying to offend, but it is quite silly. Also this was known before launch, a few weeks ago actually.

this is a serious problem, so stop belittling people with bad connections or data caps... I would download for about two weeks if I had bought for PC...

I feel your pain man , but you learn it on hard way to NEVER trust Bethesda words . They have the worst gamer/customer support . Always wait , never preorder

isn't this how all PC games are nowadays?

it's just not possible to get 30+GB on one disc

and it was pretty annoying having to install GTA IV from 3 dvd's and have to change them during installation

I'm quite happy, that I didn't have to do this in Fallout

They didn't specify how big the download will be did they?? What do u think when u hear partial steam download? Do u think 19 gigs or do u think ok, well most of the data is on the disc at least so its forgiveable!

He did get the full game though. Just because he has to download the rest of the data doesn't mean he has to pay extra. I've seen your post in alot of threads now and you are just bringing about whining and trying to make others whine more. Please contribute something useful or atleast use criticism where its due and not on every small detail that annoys you.

Is there generally some lack of awareness about how much data fits on a DVD?

Seems like u have fast internet and in that case im happy for u i really am, but i baught Assassin's Creed Unity and it came on many discs that install faster than my internet downloads so im pretty screwed here. Bethesda could at least have included 3 or AT VERY LEAST 2 discs, but thats just my opinion....

I was expecting most of the data to be on the disk but this is unacceptable. I have to deal with slow internet and low data caps for a high price. I live outside the contiguous United States and was hoping to not download 19 Gigabytes of data by buying the game disk at the store. I bought Skyrim at the store for this very reason. I actually want some compensation for this because this download will eat up most of my spare bandwidth for the month.

Point of order: Bethesda does not have customer support. They have a forum where other users will eventually fix or work around most bugs.

It has nothing to do with Bethesda. This is standard for software and has been for years, even including OSes, antivirus, and productivity tools. If you do not like these changes in the market, you either need to stay with old, outdated systems that lack support or stop using computing systems altogether.

No it is not a "serious problem" at all or all software would not do it, including OSes and productivity tools. Nothing new and this has been standard for years.

Is it unfortunate for some people? Sure, maybe. The same with people who only want a simple phone and not something that does all sorts of other stuff they don't want or need. Same with other changes that occur. Adapt... or not.

sorry to hear that. i know some people have data caps and they won't be able to download it. you were not wrong to expect the full version of the game on the disc. sorry for all these elitists and trolls in the thread, they think they're better than you.

Whine seems to be your favourite word. He didn't get the full game because he has to download the other half of it, even though he paid the full price. He only got a portion of the game on the disc.

Is that really difficult to understand? Did you even read the thread? Or are you just here to troll others?

I didnt expect ALL of the game to be on disc, but only a fifth of the game? This isnt going to stop privacy at all and its really annoying to people with mediocre internet speeds

Okay. But the solution is simple: Get a better Internet connection. Or get your PC to a place with a fast connection.

It's the future, nothing you can do about it.

Yes because in the United States of America it's possible to get better internet connections or no monthly data caps with the monopolies Internet Service Provider (ISP's) companies have?

AT&T and Comcast are only Internet Service providers (ISP's) in my area and AT&T is worse than Comcast and I have 300GB's of monthly data caps from Comcast and Comcast charges me $120 dollars (USD) a month.

It's not the future stop saying this physical discs of software will keep on being sold along side digitally sold software.

The infrastructure for 100% digitally sold software is not there and will not exist 10 years from now.

I think I will call their corperate office tomorrow and see what they will say. I'm sure they will have an interesting excuse for this. I heard about not full game on disc but never heard about me having to download 80% of the game. If I would of known this I wouldn't of purchesed it. What makes it worse is I can't take it back to the store and get a refund on it.

Most stores wont do refunds or platform exchanges for games. Especially once they have been opened.
