Gamestop is expensive. Their prices match that of Walmart, which I find to also be expensive. The only time I go to Gamestop is for used games, games that you cannot find new anymore, but even then I dont like to buy their used games because it comes with that ugly sticker on it. Bestbuy has good deals, they give weekly deals there, on games and accessories. Walmart gives weekly deals, but they are not as great as Best Buy.

I'm using Canadian prices, and all gamestops have the same prices, I believe. Yeah, they offer a normal price, but a normal price doesn't cut it. I want a better than normal price. But thats their business, games, if they dont profit from it they go out of business. If I was making $250k a year I wouldnt mind paying $40 for Overlord 2, but since I'm a broke student, gonna have to go with the $15.

So, this weekend gonna grab Plants VS Zombies for $15, new, whereas it would be $20 at Gamestop, new. Also gonna grab Fable 2, platinum hits with the 2x DLC's on disk for $15. At gamestop the regular Fable 2 is $20, no DLC, and even if it was the platinum hits w/DLC it would be $20, mabey even $30.

Gamestop is expensive.

Are you talking about NV? I've played the game for about 40 minutes this morning after opening it and I've already seen some weird bugs, glitches and even a game freeze!

If you did not get it on release day, I'd ask for some sort of discount or else I'd return/refund it and get it from a different retailer.

I've never had a problem with GameStop. The only two times I actually got a game on release day , I was able to stroll in and buy it without any issues. The only thing I don't like about one of my local ones is that after searching high and low for a game that their online inventory says they have, I'll wait at the counter calling the attention of an associate so they can confirm that it's not in stock (I know those online inventory things can be off), but they'll just completely ignore me 'cause they're talking to some guys about Halo or World of Warcraft or some other crap.

Also, why brag about the money you have? I hate when customers do that to me at work; I tend to think their wallet is larger than both their brain and a certain other body part. I'm not saying that about you; it just reminded me of the customers who do that.

Where do you get these games new for such a cheap price? Best Buy? Are you talking about PC games or console games? Our Best Buy has fable 2 for $30 (PC).

Also, I preordered Mafia II from gamestop because of the packs they offered. It arrived the day of release at noon. I was a school. :banghead:

Nope, the game did not arrive today. I have to probably contact customer support because the site said I would get a refund on shipping if the game did not arrive on release day.

I should have bought it on Steam, but I wanted the CE.

I've never had a bad experience with Gamestop, not a single one.

I don't order from them because I don't need to, there's three gamestops withing walking distance from my uni, there's one about 5 minutes by car/train from where I live and in addition to that there's an EB games about 5 minutes by car from here and several other stores that sell games among other things. So wherever I am, there's usually a gamestop or other store that sells games fairly close by.

The Gamestop closest to me is usually staffed by friends of mine, which means I get goodies, beta keys etc. just because I know people there. Even the people there who aren't friends of mine know me after a while. I remember when i got Dragon Age. I walked into the store, and the cashier looked up across the store and said "Dragon Age right? I'll just open up your pre-order while you walk over here"

Most other Gamestops in Oslo (Where my uni is) are staffed by nice people, usually around my own age who are gamers themselves, so we talk about games or joke around and I always end up having a nice experience at any gamestore I visit. The service is excellent, and while the constant asking for insurance get's a bit annoying I know that's not the cashiers choice, they have to say that. I just politely say no, I take good care of my games and I get the game and leave. Simple as that.

To bad the insurance plan didn't exist when i got Assassins Creed, that's the last time I let my brother lend out a game, the box looked like it had seen a war.

Most games I get on Steam these days anyway, only games I buy physical copies of are for the 360, and while I do own quite a few I don't buy them that often.

If you authorized the purchase but enough time passes between when you authorized the charge and when the merchant goes to process it, the bank may decline it as a fraud-prevention move.

Same concept as dishonoring a stale check.

I don't understand. How can you buy something online with just a bank account? You mean you don't use a credit card and just take the funds right out of your bank account online? Or did you go into the store, and use the debit card?

I had this happen to me a few times. It was problems with the bank at the time. How did you check to see if you had money in the bank? Maybe the time you checked to see if you had money in the bank, the problem was solved. I know sometimes the debit systems go down, not the stores fault it's the bank.

You can just pay for something online directly from your account instead of using a credit card I believe, I use my VISA for all online purchases anyway, as it's linked directly to my account.

EB Games is horrible for prices, I went into a local trade in shop BF:BC2 - 34$ at EB Games it was about 50$ used.
So, I got Dead Rising 2 (sadly from EB) total was 74$ ( I'm not sure if this is normal, but.. almost 100$ for a (yes new) but just standard version of a game) that is ridiculous.

Gamestop owns EB Games. Also, game prices stay the same, they just get adjusted to your local currency so that you'll pay the same amount in US dollars, at least I think that's how Gamestop and by extension EB games does it. That's why a 60$ game costs me 600NOK over here. Not that there's any difference, 600NOK to me isn't any more than 60USD would be to an american.
