"Never should of come here"

Post » Fri Aug 30, 2013 12:54 pm

My, my you silly bandits. Why do you always exclaim your trademark battle cry outside my own bloody house?

Anybody think maybe certain dialogue in Skyrim could of been tweaked?

Another example:

I exit my house and a couple of bandits spawn outside. What do they say?

"You picked a bad time to get lost friend!"

:stare:

For the first part I could see them thinking you're invading their territory.

As for you getting lost. These guys aren't the brainiest bunch from all appearances.

Yes the dialogue could be tweaked. It appears to be randomized which makes for some strange situations.

There are even more weird situations like this (this actually happened BTW)

*starts charging towards a bandit camp as a werewolf*

*mauls and eats every bandit bar 1*

"Whatcha gonna do eh? Whatcha gonna do?"

Bandits are milk-drinkers. They have milk on them which explains why they are so idiotic. And people wonder why milk-drinker is an insult

What really grates me is that bandits do not recognise I am a vampire lord and use text which simply is not applicable for a great big monster coming at you.

Morrowind at least had: "AIEEE a vampire!" but Skyrim has many, many, incredibly many half-assed things.

Iirc, both bandits and huntsmen share some lines, if not more than just some. In fact, huntsmen shout lines similar to the one the OP mentioned at their defenceless preys. But, you know, they're animals.

Like "Can't wait to count out your coin" to a vampire lord or werewolf?

Yes, if you have Hearthfire installed, you can find jugs of milk on them. Guess we know what Bethesda thinks of pathetic milk-drinkers.

That, or quest givers just ignoring your transformation and happily continuing their little speech instead of becoming hostile, like Madanach.

He just stares at you. Of course, you can't talk to him to advance the quest in beast form and this is clearly what the game wants you to do.

"Milk-Drinker" is used as an insult in game as it refers to lactation and briast feeding..

its basically the same as going up to the guy who throws junk on your front-lawn and calling him "immature" or "you have the mindset of a child", or even "my Niece could easily take you on"

Ha! Reminds me of when I was in college and my friend who is very particular about the use fo the English language told be "there is no such thing as 'should of'." To which I replied, "I didn't say 'should of'; I said 'should've'." I don't think he ever understood the difference.

I've been told by a bandit's decapitated head that he was going to rip my heart out.

Well, that's why i prefer a sneak character, you can't say stupid things to what you can't see  Well, you can, but then you're crazy :teehee:

And that's propably why so many mistake it as "should of". Anyway, i doubt the moderation would approve of turning this place into a grammar police state

Today I killed a werewolf who had a bandit down on one knee, killing him as his power attack was in mid swing. The bandit got up and told me "Never should have come here!".

Really?

I like the "Never Should've Come Here" line. Because it can be referring to you. "You never should have come here!" But it might also be referring to themselves. Like, as they are on the very edge of being wiped out "I never should've come here!" as in, a declaration that whatever insanity the NPC was involved in was a bad idea.
