New Ald'ruhn 1.0

Post » Fri Feb 04, 2011 9:31 pm

I want to introduce to you my latest Mod. It is named

New Ald'ruhn 1.0

In this Mod the city of Ald'ruhn is enlarged and changed by me with more buildings and npcs. Some of them have their own little history and dialogues. I tried to be lore-friendly as best as possible, at least from my own point of view. If you think that you will get here dozens of armor and weapon-traders in my plug-in then I have to disappoint you. There ARE a new smith and some new trainers, but they have a little history or some sort of connection to Ald'ruhn so that they fit into the city. Furthermore I added only two new armor parts and 2 new ingredients.

This mod requires the German version of Morrowind and Tribunal. But if there is enough interest for an English version I might find some one who will translate it. I cannot do this on my own because i have only spare time and no international GOTY version of Morrowind.
In this mod have been used the modder ressources Marble & Gold by _aediin_ and ranger quiver, canopy bed and water objects made by dongle.

And before somebody asks for it, here are some screenshots from CS and ingame of the German version:

The Redoran guards will be reinforced by Archers:
http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=78b2752screenshot.jpg

Furthermore the guards will get their own barracks with a smith and a trainer only accessable for followers of House Redoran:
http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=f7e6fbecscreenshot.jpg
http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=63c78891screenshot.jpg
(The pics have been made ingame with several head replacers and Divine Domina activated. So they will perhaps look different to you ingame)

Some impressions of Ald'ruhn at night:

http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=8af8f540screenshot.jpg

And last but not least an oversight of the city (screen from CS):

You can download the German version here:
http://www.scharesoft.de/joomla/forum/showthread.php?t=32641
Just scroll a bit down at my first post, you will see the download-link on the scharesoft-thread.

So, is there perhaps any interest in an English Version of my mod?

*EDIT*

Sorry, but i forgot to add (relz) to the topics name. If a mod could correct this I would be thankful.

Looks nice, heh.
But why you put Danmer Castle near Ald'Ruhn ( http://pic.leech.it/pic.php?id=7349dadascreenshot.jpg ) ?

P.S. As for me.. no need to translate, I can understand german.

Well, let's say there has been a massive landslide at the hills behind house morvayn and that has cleared a bit of a forgotten Dunmer stronghold. Now House Redoran is busy with digging it out. The rest is explained by me with the dialogues of the locals. :)

Leider gilt das nicht f?r die englische Version von Morrowind - Dialog w?r ja noch ziemlich egal, aber die unterschiedlichen Zellennamen nicht.
(Unfortunately that doesn't apply to the english version of Morrowind - dialogue wouldn't be a big deal, but the different Cell names would be.) And we completely agree on one thing: it looks nice. Very nice.

Well, in this case I have to find somebody who will translate my mod for the english Version of Morrowind. As I already said, I don't either have the international version of Morrowind nor do I have enough time right now for the translation.

Sister already gave a nice description, but I'll explain it in a different way. The tempel now has a different exterior building, that matches much more with the rest of Ald'ruhn. Furthermore the temple has been upgraded with 2 more interior cells, one of them is the chapel that sister already explained and that is something like an antechamber to the original interior-cell of the temple and the other one.

I'm giving this a bump, because I'd really like to see an English version of this mod. I know, I know, I'm from Germany myself, and I could do it myself (with Mercarryn's help, because I don't have the German version of Morrowind), but my time is really limited at the moment.

Hat irgendjemand gerade ein wenig Zeit ?brig, um diese Mod zu ?bersetzen? Bitte, bitte? Mit einem Sahneh?ubchen obendrauf?
(If you don't understand these last sentences, I didn't address you, anyway )

Although for most English speakers the most desirable option would probably be to have a fully translated mod, I wonder if cell names are as much of a problem as many of us tend to think.

When Basswalker's http://www.scharesoft.de/joomla/forum/showthread.php?t=19712 mod came out it was suggested that the cell names might conflict with those of the English/international version. There were no problems when I installed the mod, though. In fact, it works just fine with the English version of Morrowind.

Is anyone aware of instances where the cell names are, indeed, different?

P.S. - although the prospect of whipped cream is tempting, I've currently got my hands full finishing a few RL projects. :-)

In this mod's case, Cell names really are different and important. For example, "New Ald'ruhn' alters the Cells "Ald'ruhn, Tempel" which would be "Ald-ruhn, Temple" in the English version. And there's also the dialogue. For example, "New Ald'ruhn" adds something to the topic "Aengoth der Jewelier" which is called "Aengoth the jeweler" in the English version. None of these things should pose a serious problem when you work with the Enchanted Editor and/or the CS (and some things are plain dirty entries that can easily be cleaned out), but since there are 54 Cells and 262 dialogue entries to check, it's about two to four weeks of work.

Edit: about the whipped cream... und wenn ich noch eine Kirsche obendrauf lege? :hehe:

Well, first of all thanks for your interest. I really would like to translate it for you into English, but unfortunately I still have no time to that ( i am attending evening school besides my work as an industriel clerk). Furthermore i am not familiar with the topics of the dialogue-system in the English version. For example: IIRC the topic "background" always describes the job, belonging and the rank of an npc. The German equivalent to this is "alles andere" which is a totally different meaning in my opinion.
If some one could give a list of the English cell names of ald'ruhn, especially the interior and the topics that all npcs share, it would be a help for the translation.

I'm sorry for taking so long to reply; I've got a lot of other things on my agenda, as well. So I was hoping for someone else to jump in and provide you with the information you need. Well, that hope seems to have been in vain... Anyway, it's high time you get your information:

Dialogue
Deutsch - English
-----------------
Aengoth der Juwelier - Aengoth the Jeweler
alles andere - Background
Almosen f?r die Armen - alms for the poor
Die neuesten Ger?chte - latest rumors
Eiermine - Eggmine
Guar - Guar
Hassour Zainsubani - Hassour Zainsubani
Haus Arobar - Arobar Manor
Ienas Sarandas - Ienas Sarandas
Kaiserlichen Kult - Imperial cult
Kaserne - Barracks
kurzen Ratschlag - little advice
Liriell Stoine - Lirielle Stoine
mein Beruf - my trade
Nerevarine - Nerevarine
Oreyn B?rentatze - Oreyn Bearclaw
Tempel - Temple

Standard Ald'ruhn Cells
The most evident difference is that in the English version Ald'ruhn's Cells are called Ald-ruhn.
Ald'ruhn, Arobar-Wachquartiere - Ald-ruhn, Arobar Guard Quarters
Ald'ruhn, Bevene Releth: Schneiderin - Ald-ruhn, Bevene Releth: Clothier
Ald'ruhn, Codus Callonus: Buchh?ndler - Ald-ruhn, Codus Callonus: Bookseller
Ald'ruhn, Dandera Selaro: Schmiedin - Ald-ruhn, Dandera Selaro: Smith
Ald'ruhn, Die Ratte und der Topf - Ald-ruhn, The Rat In The Pot
Ald'ruhn, Dravasa Andrethis Haus - Ald-ruhn, Dravasa Andrethi's House
Ald'ruhn, Drinar Varyons Haus - Ald-ruhn, Drinar Varyon's House
Ald'ruhn, Eingang zum Haus Llethri - Ald-ruhn, Llethri Manor Entrance
Ald'ruhn, Gildans Haus - Ald-ruhn, Gildan's House
Ald'ruhn, Haus Arobar - I'm a bit stumped here: there are four Cells for Arobar manor in the English version: Ald-ruhn, Arobar Guard Quarters, Ald-ruhn, Arobar Manor Bedrooms, Ald-ruhn, Arobar Manor Entrance, Ald-ruhn, Arobar Private Quarters. Which one did you change?
Ald'ruhn, Ienas Sarandas' Haus - Ald-ruhn, Ienas Sarandas's House
Ald'ruhn, Magiergilde - Ald-ruhn, Guild of Mages
Ald'ruhn, Ratstaverne - Ald-ruhn, Council Club
Ald'ruhn, Redoranische Ratshalle - Ald-ruhn, Redoran Council Hall
Ald'ruhn, Taverne Ald Skar - Ald-ruhn, Ald Skar Inn
Ald'ruhn, Tiras Sadus: H?ndler - Ald-ruhn, Tiras Sadus: General Merchandise
Ald'ruhn, Wachturm 1 - Ald-ruhn, Guard Tower 1
Ald'ruhn, Wachturm 2 - Ald-ruhn, Guard Tower 2
Ald'ruhn, Wohndistrikt - Ald-ruhn, Manor District

Sag Bescheid, wenn Du mehr Informationen brauchst. :)

Thanks for the information you gathered so far, but I have to freeze the translation of my mod until june, when i have (hopefully) successfully finished evening school. Thus I am really looking for someone who could translate the esp for the English version.
I think I should really buy the English version of Morrowind in the near future

Well, I could do that. My native tongue is german and I have enough free time.

EDIT: Translated everything except for NPCs and dialogs/dialog responses. I will do it later.

BTW: Did you download the version 1.05? There is a link at scharesoft.de for the latest version.

Crud. :brokencomputer:
Well, I won't promise anything, but if I find some time to have a go at this, which file would I have to look at: "New_Aldruhn 1.0.esp" or "New_Aldruhn.esp"?

Well, I can upload the esp-file, FallenWizard was working at. But that would only be the esp. The rest of the files, i.e. meshes etc would have to be downloaded at scharesoft. Just tell me an you will get it.
