Similar to what Better Bodies does for the human races, this mod replaces the segmented Argonian and Khajiit bodies with smooth deforming ones with seamless textures. It works with my Unique Shadow Pack mod to give the beast races and Moogles unique shadows as well.
These are brand new models where all the pieces fit together perfectly without visible seams, not a re-textured patchwork of pieces from other mods. The bodies were made by starting with the Better Bodies meshes to maximize compatibility with custom clothing. The textures are meant to appear similar to the originals, but without seams and with extra detail added. It also doesn't force you to use both the Khajiit and Argonians at the same time, so you can use one or the other from Slof's Better Beasts or Sabregirl's Better Bodies for Beasts without problems.
If you want your beasts to be upright similar to Slof's Civilized Beasts, then http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=868016.
NOTE: This mod requires my separate Unique Shadow Pack mod to work properly. It makes it so the shadows of your beast races actually look like the race. Unique Shadow Pack 2.0 includes two Khajiit shadows (male and female), one Argonian Shadow, and one Moogle shadow.
All links in this post are to the CLEAN version of the mod. While the races wear no underwear, like in the original game, there is no graphic nudity. If you want the mature version, you'll have to hunt around a bit on my website or PES to find it.
New in version 3.3:
- Fixed a bug where parts of the Khajiit's body would disappear under water.
- Fixed a bug where the female Khajiit's left arm was split in the wrong place so it left gaps between it and clothing.
- Made some small changes to the female Khajiit texture so it would work better with the Children of Morrowind mod.
- Several bug fixes since the initial 3.0 release. This includes fixes to the optional texture patches, so if you downloaded the 3.0 version, you should re-download those as well.
- The Male Argonian Neck Fix ESP file has been incorporated into the Argonian ESP files. Separate ESP files are no longer necessary.
- Like the Khajiit, Argonians will now be compatible with most BB clothes.
- Male and female Argonians no longer use the same mesh, so they have different figures.
- Khajiit are more compatible with BB clothes than they were (their wrists were fixed).
- The body textures for both races were increased to 1024x1024.
- The Argonian texture was worked over with extra detail, particularly in the belly area and the smaller orange scales. They're still supposed to look like the same animal so I tried to only make them more sharp and detailed, adding shadowing around the scales and such, without changing the overall look of them.
- Baked ambient occlusion shadowing into the vertex colors so crevices in the model are darker.
To give people a wider variety of texture choices, I've also added new optional downloads that will let you use Slof's and/or Silaria's textures on my body meshes =) They don't contain any of the files from their mods, so you'll need to download the original mod to make them work, but you do NOT need to enable their ESP files once you have these. They also reference some files in my mod, so here's the full list of what you need:
Always required:
My Unique Shadow Pack mod
A version (Clean or Mature) of my New Beast Bodies 3.0 mod
To use Slof's textures:
Slof's Better Beasts reptile version
Optional Slof texture compatibility patch from my website.
To use Silaria's textures:
Sabregirl's Better Bodies for Argonians (a BB version of Silaria's original textures)
Optional Silaria texture compatibility patch from my website.
The compatibility patches come with separate ESP files for each race, and and are made in a way that you can switch each race's texture individually by checking and un-checking ESP files in the Data Files section of the Morrowind Launcher.
The new meshes can also be useful as a modder's resource if you've made a custom Argonian-like race with a similar texture layout to those mods, and want to re-texture my Argonians to update the look of your race.
Note that I didn't alter the textures in any way, so they still have seams in them on mesh borders. I tried to make them look as good as possible on the new mesh.
Here are some comparison screen shots so you can decide which ones you want to use:
