I think at 0:40 he said something about a rapidfire grenadelauncher
Is it true or just some kind of advertising?

It seems SD is staying true to their old formula, by making it possible to use only hip fire, if that's what the player wants.

I have heard rumors about this and it's not like as-fast-as a SMG or anything it's semi-auto. Say you shoot a grenade, you'll have to wait like 3-4 seconds before you can fire another one. Something like that.

It's true, in the Choir of Guns video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI4y2P0r7K0 you can see a regular grenade launcher 0:32 - 0:33, and an automatic one 0:58 - 0:59

Oh  this is a interesting interpretation of "rapidfire", 3-4 second between shots

Edit:
thanks idk, the automatic one looks really nice. I hope it will be really rapidfire

No apparently it is full auto but not in the sence of (yes like you said) SMG more like a slow rate of fire like 16 rounds a minute or so.

I think he was exaggerating a bit, if you watch some gameplay with the normal grenade launcher you can see that 3-4 seconds is about how long it takes to reload, so I'd suspect the automatic grenade launcher be a bit faster.

That's the fire rate of the normal one, 60/16 makes about 4 secondes, right?

Well to be honest no one really can say for certain cause all we have seen is a character fire it once so there is no telling how fast it can shoot. and yes my representation was abit under but you get that on these big jobs.

Cool to see the more adamant and forceful side of a dev. HE SAID BAD WORDS

Also cool to see a 9.5 rating out of 600+ votes... people are obviously loving what they're seeing!

Well considering I posted mine at 5 in the am and you posted yours at 8 pm, I think I have your time beat by a couple hours.
But regardless of who posted first, if the other thread is getting more attention now the mods might as well lock this one.

Regarding grenades (as Rahdo mentions in the vid) they have a much more tactical application in Brink, other than just "kill badguys." Grenades cause knockdown, which makes for great crowd control. And as far as the Grenade launchers go, fo anyone who is worried about "noob tubing" a direct hit with a grenade launcher will knock a player down, not kill them.

That seems a little silly...

A direct hit from a grenade Launcher should kill no matter what. Blast radius is one thing but if you hit someone dead on there is no reason why they shouldn't be down for good.

You can't see the frustration and rise in rage-quits that would follow what you propose? If a player was wielding an AGL, and was just popping people center mass, one after the other, resulting in kill, after kill, you don't see the problem with this at all? I think it is ingenious that Splash Damage went the route of making GL's as much of a tool as they are a weapon.

^Agreed. One of the reasons I quit playing CoD was because people would run around with GL's and the scavenger perk and would just fire grenades randomly across the map because they never ran out of ammo for it. Honestly one of the most frustrating game mechanics.

If you want to limit people going nuts with a GL limit the amount of ammo that can be carried and make sure there is no way to cheat the system by allowing people with GLs to pick up limitless ammo.

It just seems silly to let people survive a direct hit with a grenade launcher or any grenade for that matter. I know it is not real life but explosives are explosives.

They could just be Soldiers and give themselves ammo or get ammo from other Soldiers. You can also reload at Command Posts.
