New bug on change location events?

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 7:18 pm

Hi now since I am out of ideas and clues on why my quest is not working anymore when befoure the patches was working fine , after testing with a totally new game and ingame console commands ... I am wondering if there is any new kind of bugs introduced with the patch that prevents the

Change location events to work ! only for custom mods

Or

Courier system to not work anymore for a custom quest ...

Any ideas?

Hi Prometheus

Sorry to see you still don't have things working :(

But, someone else is having a similar issue to "Travel to Locations"

See this post: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1409022-travel-packages-to-mod-added-locations/

So maybe you are seeing ANOTHER Dialogue-Bug related issue?

I have the issue that I can't get a quest to start via SM Change Location Event...

What conditions have you put on the quest node? I couldn't get a condition that used a custom location as the event data to work.

I tried with condition and with no conditions. I also tried to just move outside from an inn and to move further away.

SO I guess we can confirm this as a dialogue bug related?

At least I can't get it to work. Workaround is to use start() on the quest. I read it will also fill the aliases but not tried myself.
I will see if my scene quests with SM dialogue event are working. This used to work flawlessly but not tested it explicitly since the introduction of this damn bug.

I think even the dialogue event SM is bugged.
Can anyone confirm the SM Change Loc Event trigger and filling in aliases is working for them?

Not quite sure but you shouldtry to create a new quest, not just copy it and recreate the alias one after another. Debug what alias does make the quest not start. I got it to work by doing this.

A simpler way to do that is to make the aliases all optional, then unoptional one at a time (or just see which ones aren't filled, with a script).
