New Bugs since pat 1.9, DX11, Hi-Rez, or whatever

Post » Wed Jun 29, 2011 2:14 pm

First off DX11 and hi-rez pack is pretty good, not as good as it could be, but good. I have found some bugs since updating to all of that and I would like to share them. First off INSANE load times, a couple of times I thought my PC locked up. Second, my weapon disappeared afte sliding down a small slope. Third the I noticed the AI holding rifles and guns that weren't in their hands but were in fact on their backs. Last, occassional shadows clipping in and out of view for no reason. Have fun Crytek!

Loading times will increase with the high resolution texture pack because the textures take longer to load. Crysis 1 takes just as long for probably the same reason.

I expected a little bit of an increase in load time, but nothing like what I have experienced, and in fact I think it keeps getting longer and longer the further into the game I get. Its almost like there is a memory leak or something going on, the original Crysis was nowhere near this long.

As said, there are a lot more variation in the textures and much more to load than Crysis 1 per level.

Long loading times is nothing and is easily explained by having to load all that extra stuff (tessellation, higher res textures). I've experienced massive bugs that make the game almost unplayable. It really does look beautiful now, but damn it's buggy as hell.

I just saw a really nice in-game link scene with the in-game graphics after the helicopter crash in Dead Man Walking. The Directx11 made a difference.

So far I have found 3 problems. 2 are graphics glitches.

The anti-aliasing needs to be fixed for us ATI Radeon peoples. Dotted lines are pretty prevelant throughout the game. Any "autoexec.bat" changes seem not to fix anything as myself and a few others here have tried. (I made a separate post already about this that included some examples).

The other happened during Dead Man Walking where Alcatraz jumps from a building with the prompt to use the Q key, onto a fanned out glass roof. From there he has to make his way around to the top of another building killing soldiers as he goes. It is right before Gould takes him into the chamber.

From the roof using the Auto Assault Rifle I would zoom in on the soldiers down in the street. Just looking down there would be these little very small black squares on the street. If you zoom in on those there is a slow black out of your view through the scope, as if someone is manually turning down your brightness as you play. (This is a graphics bug that severely affects the game play).

The third is if you shoot out glass, some of the pieces are black in color while the others look like shattered glass. There are a few posts here in the forum that show this bug.

So 3 things total from me.

Dx11 at times is a little too bright in the sun scenes but overall a vast improvement with some nice surface effects.
