Hi all, my 7 year old PC that was built specially for Flight Sim software has recently fried itself, normally I would have tried to save it by replacing the power supply as that was what smoked, however after looking at the latest hardware it was just not worth the effort. The old hardware was state of the art...in 2009 and I found that most of the architecture of the old parts was not even supported any longer. It was a Core i7 cpu but it was one of the earliest 920 D0 chips, the socket was a 1366... iirc, and well, they don't even make MoBo's with that socket anymore. Same with the Vid card,an EVGA GTX 280 with only 1 gig of vram,no where near enough to run Skyrim at full tilt ultra. So,with that in mind I've decided it's time for a fresh up to date build, these are the parts I've spec'd out, I think it will perform well,I want to be able to run at Ultra-High Graphics using the "Real Vision" and ENB mods along with all the other environment upgrades. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated so I can make purchase adjustments before beginning the build.
