New Canaan was originally planned for it.

Hoover Dam was suppose to be an NCR town with super mutants, ghouls humans and the newly introduce trogs as citizens.
Lake Mead was suppose to be highly radioactive and have sea monsters.
And the BOS were attacking it regularly.
Only part of what was true from Van Buren in New Vegas was that NCR occupies the dam.

That and Ceaser's Legion as they were supposed to be a faction in Van Buren.

i agree with this and when NV first came out i was REALY hoping for all of this in the actual game.

Actually they were hardly going to be in Van Buren at all. They were going to be a major force in Fallout 4.

I'd just assume they cancel all the NV DLC and incorporate it into a Fallout 4 released next year.

Nah all the DLC is coming, late, but still coming out for New Vegas. I think Fallout 4 will still be on the east coast (New York or Commonwealth) and will use the creation engine. We'll have to see how large of a world the creation engine can do with Skyrim to know if you can pull off New York in Fallout 4.

I would have prefered that to what we actually got... ah well.

and, strictly speaking, you can't have SEA monsters in Lake Mead, cos.. well, it's a lake.

Van Buren was going to be the final Fallout if I remember correctly, and Caesar's legion would take up a decent portion of the game.

Originally the Legion was going to play a major role in Van Buren but eventually their role was minimized. Black Isle planned on giving them a larger role in their Fallout 4. I don't remember ever reading anything about Van Buren being the final Fallout game.

Nah, they already had plans for a Fallout 4 while working on Van Buren, which would have been Fallout 3.

that trader in the Goodsprings gas-station (forget his name) that you meet later in the Crimson Caravan mentions he's going up to New Canaan. Then he just... stands around. Waiting for DLC?

His name is Ringo. I believe he's gone after a while, isn't he? I figured he left for New Canaan. Some NCR deserters also mention they might flee to New Canaan for safety if you let them live when you meet them in Primm.

After a little research, it turns out there is a Canaan Valley here pretty far south from where i live. I'd be willing to bet that's where they'll be holding this event.
