Okay, so I have been having trouble for the past week or so coming up with a back story for a new character. Well, two days ago, I came up with one, with a little help of someone.

Vardal is a young farm boy, who, after finally being of age, decided to join the Stormcloak rebellion, because he had seen the destruction the Thalmor has caused, but recent events have changed his view on who is the bigger threat to Skyrim is. He came home one day after training to see that his family's house had been ransacked. Drawing his sword, and thinking that it was a group of bandits, he burst into the home onto a very dreadful scene. Vardal saw the blood on the floor, his father and mother's dead corpses with two bright eyes, pale, and absolutely sickening people over them. He immediately knew that they were vampires, those of whom had not been seen in ages. Both of which hissed at him. He immediately lunged forward with his sword and missing, they were quick. Vardal spun with his sword, and sliced the weaker vampire's head right off. The other vampire grabbed him, screeched, and threw him across the room, crashing into, and breaking, the furniture. The vampire leaped towards him as Vardal was getting up, and throwing him back down to the ground. The vampire started clawing Vardal's face viciously. Tired of the fight, the vampire wanted to end it quickly, and turn Vardal into a slave. As the vampire readied its fangs, Vardal head-butted it, kicked it, and picked his sword back up. Vardal moved swiftly and plunged his sword right through the vampire's throat. The vampire grabbed the sword, screeching in pain, and then died. Vardal withdrew his sword from the vampire's gullet and looked at his family's dead corpses. At that instant, he knew there was a bigger threat to Skyrim than the Thalmor, and he knew they had to be stopped.

With this he joined the Dawnguard. (And since I have the "Live Another Life" mod, he can do this seamlessly.)
