A new Character

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 5:21 am

Hey ^^, I've been playing 3 characters for a long time now, an Archer, a Heavy Armoured sword fighter, and a mage

But now i think it's time to move onto a new fresh character, however i've kinda run out of ideas of what to make the character like. I do some Roleplay, but im not a hardcoe RP'er so if anyone has any ideas of what they would play then that gives me ideas which i could consider ^^

Thanks :)

How about a Dunmer Nightblade, who's secretly of House Telvanni, sent to infiltrate the Mages Guild?
A Nordic Shaman?

Or mix it up a bit.

Orcish Archer/Theif. Bosmer Paladin/Tank.

Just my 2 pennies. I'm not that good at coming up with ideas on the spot.

In my opinion, a Druid or a Shaman would be relatively similar to each other in this game.

Living off the land, practicing magics in the wilds. Probably Restoration, Illusion and Destruction (the elemental magics fit this build, I feel). Perhaps Marksman so he/she can hunt for their food.

Uh oh, this is sounding like a good idea to me (for my playstyle at least). Looks like there's a character in the works again :P

A crazy man (redguard) who looks stupid and runs around stabbing people naked.

Historically druids were Celtic priests and history keepers, but in D&D they are portraied as similair to clerics except they draw their power from nature instead of from gods. And a shaman is to priest what barbarian is to knight.

Possible skills could be: Blunt, Light Armor (leather), Alchemy, Restoration, Mysticism, Illusion, Alteration.

Another option is to pick whichever race looks best visually, take whatever birthsign sounds the coolest, and then take whatever class Baurus thinks you are.

Altmer
Light armored. Enchaned armor and sword.
Sort of like a Spellsword.

Bosmer, pure thief.

The thing i love about oblivion is when someone says "Should i make a fight an archer or a mage?" i rofl at them becuase imo there is no certain "melee" or "caster/mage" just make the character the way you like. I plan on making a "shaman" who uses poisons on all his weapons. I just think its so cool that is there is no limited classes. Just your imagination. Just make a character up :obliviongate: .

If you need ideas just think up what kind of fictional characters you like. I rolled a dunmer cause I wanted to look like a drow (real original I know, but I like their appearance) I just like chaotic neutral type characters. Don't need much excuse other than they are out for fame or adventure.
Although on the plus side being a dunmer gives me a valid excuse to jokingly pick on other races like nords and orcs.
If I were going to play a bad guy I would pretend to be a necromancer type name my class a Soul Collector. Specialize in mysticism and see how many souls I can trap in gems maybe use some to get stronger or richer, or just decorate my house with.

goto the shivering isles, go to a town and commit a crime, get arrested and sent to a dungeon.

now DO NOT recover your equipment (no problem if new character)

imagine you were attacked by bandits and woke up in a strange tomb, you step outside and have no idea where you are. You have never seen this strange land before.

make it your goal to simply get back home to cyrodil.

Do not use the map at all.

the idea is you wake up in a strange new land and have to survive there. When you exit the tomb you should have no equipment at all, no weapons, potions... just you in your loincloth in a land you've never seen before.
