I think talking about real world drugs, illegal ones mostly is not allowed on the forum.

I am just hoping for effects like getting drunk and hallucinations.

Super stimpaks are not new but they are back are they not?

We can make healing powder and poisons. I am glad healing powder is back.

So its illegal to wonder what happened to those drugs?

I wouldn't doubt it. We're on the West coast now.

No it's not illegal to wonder about it. I just remember a conversation about drugs once on here and mods did not like it. Compairing real world drugs to fallout drugs or just talking about illegal real world, drugs, crime or any other illegal activities is not welcome on here.

Saying this fallout "drug is equal to this real world drug" I think is a no,no.

Can talk about all the fallout drugs you want :D.

I could be wrong but I am just trying to give people a heads up in case I am right.

You can talk about drugs as they appear in the games but please do not make any references or discussion to real world drugs or illegal substances.

Obsidian/Bethesda isn't allowed to use real drug names, that's why Bethesda had to create new names for them.

They're fully allowed to do that if they want, there's no restrictions to making a game where your character smokes crack or shoots up heroin. It's just that one of their big marketplaces, Australia, has a ban against games that show the symptoms of being under drugs (except for alcohol). That's why we have Med-X instead of Morphine (which it originally was).

So they don't use real drug names (except for liquors) in order to stay within Australia's guidelines.

It's quite alright. Just the way you worded it made it seem as if it were illegal for Bethesda to do so, which it [technically] isn't.

Maybe in the Fallout timeline, scientists developed (=enhanced with SCIENCE!) drugs that are way better than heroine, morphine, amphetamine etc., then named them something else and that's why we don't see them in the Fallout world.

Can't they just make a special Australian version? In Germany they censor blood in games, right?

Sure, it can easily be modded, but it still svcks that the whole world gets a 'censored' version just because the policy of one country. Besides, Australia isn't that big of a market is it?

Usually the censored versions are very sloppy, due to there not being any time taken to actually fix anything. Biggest example, Left 4 Dead 2 for Australia. From what I read it was terribly buggy, and just altogether not worth it.

And for a country like Australia or Germany, yes there is a big market. Germany is currently one of the big markets for MMORPGs, or at least from what I've seen.

Also, it's altogether easier to have one version of a game that can be sold everywhere, rather than having to sell copies that apply to specific countries and there policies. Therefore, it was easier to have one copy of Fallout 3 to sell, rather than two copies, and only one could be sold in a certain location.

Some deodorant or pefume would be kind of nice. As charisma could do with a chem boost other than alchohol.

I kind of prefer it that they leave out the names of actual drugs. I can imagine advlts who play this game, who also have children, not wanting the children anywhere near the game, if a player could use Cocaine to gain AP. Bad politically correct juju.

As long as it's explained where it came from. When Jet got introduced, you got a companion who invented it.

Yeah me too. I have a old FPS called Chaser that I go back to every now and then, even though it svcks pretty bad there's something about it I like. Anyway, throughout the game the character has flashbacks, kind of a still image burned onto the screen, and it fades, but as it fades there's a trailing screen effect which is just plain trippy. It only lasts a few seconds but it's great. S'a little like Undying BioShock 2 when what's her name sends telepathic messages, only, everything doesn't stop. My favourite part of any FO3 DLC I think, was the trek back from the mother of all Pungas in Point Lookout. Awesome that. So I'd love screen effects when the character is high on Jet, or suffering from severe Jet withdrawal.

Mad stills that flash on screen for a nano-second. Like: A Brahmin on a toilet. A Deathclaw in a mankini. A nvde woman with an eyeball for a head...

Dude, that's just crazy...

I mean, having withdrawals coming back longer and have a stronger visual impact would be awesome, but nothing too insane, unless it's funny. Don't want to be playing something totally crazy...

Then again, it's fallout, so whatever. :fallout:

If it flashed fast enough to make the player go, "Huh?" I think it'd be awesome. "Did I just see... a Bloatfly with a hula-hoop?"

I think it would be cool if there were drugs that had an effect like Mysterious Stranger. You hallucinate someone helping you out in combat and then when it wears off you get a message talking about how crazy powerful you were. I can't find the words to describe it properly, but I still think it would be cool to have.

I hope you can make drugs with alchemy set kinda like Work Bench in fallout 3. making them would require schematics and some chemicals.
science determines how many drug you will get like
repair determines the starting condition of custom equipment in fallout 3.

also drugs would bee rare
