New City

So I'm planning on creating a mod that adds a city to the game and I'd like to know if anyone has
suggestions for quests that they think would be cool to add into the city (the city is removed from Tamriel, in its own world).
I'm just looking for unique ideas and if anybody has any it would be great if they could share them and maybe I'll put them in.
Thanks a bunch!

I think a Romeo and Juliet questline with warring families would make for a great city. Good opportunity for different outcomes dependant on your choices.
  • Help Romeo by stealthily assassinating Juliet's father.
  • Help Juliet by stealthily assassinating Romeo's father.
  • Goad the two families into a blood bath.
  • Help the two lovers escape the city together.

Half the shops could be controlled by one family, the rest by the other. Only one half at a time will deal with you. Fun.

I suggest you use the Jurad city tileset. The only problem is youd have to fashion your own interiors.
I also like the above post, it would be pretty cool. :P

Add a quest that where a guard offers you money for each criminal you catch that escaped from the prison? nice and simple and effective

Great ideas guys, I especially like Masticator's idea with the Romeo and Juliet thing.
Thanks for the advice!

Along the same vein as "gothemasticator"... kind of.

How about having the citizens be the quest? I mean Oblivion really lacks in character so it'd certainly be unique. Have everyone sort of start out as your generic Oblivion NPC.

"Hi I am "
" is nice it has good ."
"I saw a mudcrab the other day, nasty critters!"

But then maybe one time when you're talking to them they'll drop some little personal fact/interest,or you'll see them making glances at someone, or acting out of character/weird at certain times. Then you can choose to try and help them with whatever the issue is.

Nothing banol as: "I'm running low on peanut butter", conversely nothing as serious as: "My wife was kidnapped by slavers!"

Could be little match maker stuff,
teaching something
Finding a child's favorite toy that they lost
acquiring a pet
Settling feuds between friends/family
etc.

Basically achieving something that is distinctly meaningful for someone without it being "life or death", or some generic "task", and.... after doing this the schedule, dialogue, animations, interactions, and everything between the citizens would slowly result in a significant change to the city and its inhabitants... for the better of course, or I guess... if you wanted to you could sabotage people's life long dreams and cackle manically as the city descends into chaos

That's a good idea too, I've never thought of that. Wow, my city's going to be pretty sweet. Thank you!
