Just want to know how this will perform please, want to make it qualitative as numbers mean little to me.
Want to know what games it will play maxed out etc (Skyrim!)

Processor - Intel Quad core i7 950bloomfield 45nm 3.06GHz LGAI366, L38M8 130W

RAM - Corsair DDR3 1866MHz (2x 2GB)

Hard disks -

1) 150 GB velociraptor 10,000RPM Sata 16MB
2) 120 GB vertex 2 series. solid state.
3) 750 GB Western digital, 7200RPM, 32MB.

Video - Asus GeForce GTX560Ti 830MHz 1GB, PCI express, HDMI.

Since you are going with an i7, you should get triple channel memory. (3x2GB=6GB or 3 sticks of any size really)
As to the hard drives, if you plan on installing games to the velociraptor (It is what I did with my 300GB one), I suggest you atleast go for the 300GB model. Space goes by rather quickly with them.

And since we dont know the specs of Skyrims requirements yet, we cant know for sure, but that is a pretty good build and should run most games perfectly.

Thanks, I do love this PC, it acts a home media server as well as my gaming PC.

Personally, I would have the OS installed to the SSD, you will notice its much quicker to boot up and almost no waiting at all from boot to playing a game. (About 10 seconds after POST to playing a game, depending on DRM type)
You really wont notice a difference with games installed to the SSD really. They will still load very quickly on the velociraptor since most games try to load the current level into RAM, you really will not notice a difference too much. (Though with FO3 I did notice a big difference having it installed to the SSD, but that is due to how it loads the game, much differently then most)

I keep WIndows 7 installed on one of my SSDs 30GB partitions and it is amazingly fast.

Skyrim is using a different engine, so we all hope it will be pretty well optimized when it comes out, with much less stuttering when roaming areas.

Are you buying it now? Now is a pretty terrible time to buy a computer in the range you're looking at. Sandybridge mobos have been recalled, and Bulldozer isn't out yet. The i5 2500k, the cheapest unlocked SB CPU, outperforms all the previous i7s. For a lot less money. But like I said, you can't buy them right now, and wont be able to until April. And by that time, Bulldozer will probably be out, and that could well be a better CPU choice.

But even if you don't want to wait, a i7 950 is overkill for gaming. Save some money and just get an i5 750 with a cheaper mobo and 4GB of dual channel RAM. Cheap RAM at 1366 MHz will perform just as well as expensive RAM for gaming. Gaming performance wont suffer at all. Saved money can go towards a better videocard, which actually does affect gaming, but the 560 TI is a pretty good choice if you're willing to overclock. Also, I'd suggest the MSI Twin Frozr 560, since it has the best cooling, or, if it ever stops being out of stock. the Gigabyte Superclocked 560 TI, since it has binned parts for a guaranteed 1000MHz overclock. Or you could go 570.

As for the Velociraptor, skip it. They were never a good buy, and now with SSDs coming down in price, they're even worse. Hot, loud, love to fail, not that much faster than a good 7200 RPM drive, small, and overpriced. Get a bigger SSD for games + Windows, or you could get a small SSD just for Windows, but that's probably not a very economical choice.

What case are you planning to get?

So you suggest swapping the raptor and the SSD functions? That sounds good, although i have heard that installing games onto an SSD means the load incredibaly fast. then again, the raptor is incredibally fast :D

The CPU and graphics are unable to be changed as they have already been orderd from BT. Thank you very much however for the incredibally detailed response there! The RAM id like to keep high quality however as i wont be just gaming, will be streaming HD TV (hopefully wirelessly) so would like some good reliable RAM for peace of mind more than anything.
