I'm just curious as to what these "mistakes" are. I could care less about eyecandy if they're about to unload a dump worse than Oblivion's Radiant AI on us.

The mere fact they are humble enough to admit they made mistakes should be a strong indication they have already u-turned.
I applaud them for that!

Is anyone else glad we know they're admitting they made big mistakes instead of doing oblivion style and realising after release

I think the mistakes could be that, with too much Radiant Story everywhere, everything feels the same, and you see a repetetive pattern, or something like that.
That's my guess. Or it could be like leveling scaling, you get a challenge for you, and with too much challenges all the time... the game stops being fun.

Or it could be like eventually every nearby dungeon was raided before, so the game crashed or put the enemy in a house or something :P

Ummm....every game developer makes mistakes along the way when trying new things. thats what Bruce Nesmith is talking about. I think you are just a tad off track.

Well thats partly what the xbox LIVE revenue goes into. Content hogging. Im sure the 360 gamers will let you know the moment the video is up though

Don't overhype this update. The "tasty" footage is probably just the interview itself.

But you're not supposed to admit to them. In Oblivion's development, never once did they say that Radiant AI was flawed or level scaling was a mistake.

In addition, if you can recognize a flaw with Radiant Story, I don't think you'd admit it if you planned to fix it. If there's a flaw in development, they call it a development bug and fix it. There's no need to tell the public what problems you're having unless you're preparing them to face it themselves. Why risk the bad press?

I agree. Although, "footage" doesn't really equate to "screenshots". Then again. It's an Inside Xbox feature and they aren't the place to release new information/footage.

All they are admitting to is how they overused the radiant story when they first got it, and how they fixed it by only using it where they feel it works the best.

I agree, It's good that that the developers value quality over quantity.

The developers are basically saying that hand-crafted > procedurally generated.

Yea and I couldn't be happier about that. I've never been one to like procedurally generated content. I prefer all my stuff hand crafted.
