New Crafting Info

More Fallout 4 Crafting info:

http://www.gamesradar.com/fallout-4s-crafting-system-explained-bethesda/

Some interesting tidbits:

Items you scavenge aren't converted for "parts" until you get to a workbench - which makes sense.

You can "flag" items that have parts you are looking for.

You aren't building pre-fab houses - you are actually placing walls, etc where you want them.

You won't be hauling trees in your pack to build your settlement.

Systems can be very detailed - with flashing lights, sequences, patterns, etc.

Everything is pretty much WYSIWYG - What You See Is What You Get.

I am hoping we can get better walls than those shown in the demo. Something a little more solid maybe.

Makes me wonder why we would tear down a standing home to build something that looks like it would blow over.

I wonder if we can actually cut down trees to use for wood...

If we can tear down AN ENTIRE HOUSE, I'm sure we can cut down trees.

We can (most likely) only tear down entire houses in our settlements not everywhere. ;)

As I understand it house building materials goes directly to the house building workbench, this is more relevant if you can harvest some distance away and not just 50 meter from the bench.

You have to activate the workbench first to cut down a whole house... I don't think you can walk around the wasteland and cut town all houses...

Depending how this house-scavenging works, it might open the possibility to find hidden places.

Would be nice if we could remove dirt/rocks that cover trapdoors or block passages and open new areas.

After spending like half an hour trying to caaaaarefully arrange items in my player home for display, only to have the Havoc engine send them flying all over the place, I hope that they handle object placement well. In the show, he seemed to be able to pick and choose where he placed, say, a bed or a chair... but I wonder how they handle non-furniture things that you did not BUILD but rather found out in the wild. Like, if you want to display a unique rifle above your fireplace mantle, can you just enter build mode, click it in inventory and then drag it where you want? Or do you have to create a shelf and then drop the item in the world and pick it up and place it on the shelf and hope it doesn't go pranging all over the place if you nudge it?
