Some new info and screenshots.

Powered by CryEngine 3, Crysis 3 "advances the state of the art with unparalleled visuals and dynamic shooter gameplay," the developer claims.
The third game sees players take on the role of Prophet as he returns to New York, only to discover the city's been encased in a giant Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation

"The New York City Liberty Dome is a veritable urban rainforest teeming with overgrown trees, dense swamplands and raging rivers," the official blurb reads. "Within the Liberty Dome, seven distinct and treacherous environments become known as the Seven Wonders.

"This dangerous new world demands advanced weapons and tactics. Prophet will utilize a lethal composite bow, an enhanced Nanosuit and devastating alien tech to become the deadliest hunter on the planet."

Set in 2047, Prophet is said to be on a "revenge mission" after uncovering the truth behind Cell's motives for building the quarantined Nanodomes. "The citizens were told that the giant citywide structures were resurrected to protect the population and to cleanse these metropolises of the remnants of Ceph forces," says EA.

"In reality, the Nanodomes are CELL's covert attempt at a land and technology grab in their quest for global domination. With Alien Ceph lurking around every corner and human enemies on the attack, nobody is safe in the path of vengeance. Everyone is a target in Prophet's quest for retribution."

EA's confirmed a special edition of the game, which grants early access to the new signature bow weapon, among other goodies.

Crytek CEO, Cevat Yerli says of the game: "Crysis 3 is a thrilling mix of sandbox gameplay, advanced combat and hi-tech human and alien weaponry that shooter fans will love.

"Leveraging the latest CryENGINE technology, we're able to deliver seven unique themes that offer stunning and visually loaded gameplay experiences. We cannot wait until people get their hands on the game."

The first Crysis 3 details appeared late last week via a Russian website, which narrowed the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC threequel's release down to spring 2013

I like the more Hunter like set up in stead of just plain old warfare. The bow makes more sense now since weapons will probably be less available. I still see some plotholes though which i hope theyll fix using flasbacks or something.
like: What happenend in those 23 or so years.
The suit took over prophet before he blasted himself, how can it be alcatraz/prophet still has a "free will"?
Why did the Ceph return to New York, since that spire at the end of crysis 2 whiped out all the ceph.
Why did cell who, under hargreave, just seemed focussed on kicking alien ass turned all Umbrella "the world is ours" style.

I just hope the story will be good with intresting side characters, maybe that Karl Rasch guy or something.

The Sandbox claim seems intresting. Since New York seems all forestified now it might actually be more like crysis 1 then then crysis 2 was. Jumping over falling skyscraqers etc etc.

Now the MP better be more like crysis 1 and less of the crysis 2 cod clone. and for god sake now enviroments seem more open just pring back Powerstruggle. Like the only unique gamemode that nobody has copied thats left in games

I find the sandbox claim interesting, but I imagine when they say 'sandbox' they mean the same 'sandbox' as we were given in Crysis 2.. no sandbox at all.

Lol, powerstruggle was always suspiciously similar to titan mode from Battlefield 2142, which was released a year prior. In fact, most of Crysis(and wars)' multiplayer gameplay seemed to be based on that of the battlefield series. However, that being said, it was fun and wide open with large maps. I would much rather another Battlefield-ish multiplayer than a CoD-ish multiplayer. And by God I hope they actually bring back the ability to sprint without relying on the nanosuit's power mode.

Oh, and I don't know about anybody else, but I will not be preordering this game. It'll take a ton of reviews convincing me that my grievances from Crysis 2 have been fixed before I consider purchasing another game from Crytek.
