No new DLC for Skyrim

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 8:05 pm

I might be a little late to the party - over the past month, RL has kind of gotten in the way of following Skyrim news much, or even playing it much. Anyhow, did some searching to see if any new Skyrim DLC had been announced, and found this:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/04/15/no-further-skyrim-dlc-planned-team-moving-on

I suppose I'm not too surprise - it has been almost 2 years since the release of Skyrim, but it seems like most of their previous games got more than 3 DLC packs. I suppose, to be fair, Dawnguard and Dragonborn were both pretty substantial DLCs. Definitely got our money's worth with them.

Anyhow, Thank you Bethesda, for a great game and a couple of amazing add-ons. I do wish you'd consider making one or two more DLCs, but I also realize that at a certain point, you've got to move designers, developers, artists, QA, and other staff resources on to other projects in the Pipeline.

Well, there's still about a thousand third-party mods I haven't tried yet (and probably another thousand will be created over the next 2 or 3 years). :)

You are as late to the party as the guy who just told me Caesar has been murdered.

True. . . but it seems that other folks are also late to the party, so are getting the news for the first time from my thread. So, I think it's been useful. :)

??? what's this about Caesar being murdered? (checks Google)

Honestly after 1000+ hours in I'm having a hard time getting into any character. Role-playing is so hard as the game is designed to make every character feel exactly the same.

at least one more to deal with the thalmor issue. Ive said it hundreds of times now, but it needs it broken steel. Skyrim is practically begging for it, I know it wouldnt be fair to consoles, but I wonder if a really talented modder could do something that involves the thalmor.....I dont understand why beth cannot simply hire some people to make a final DLC for skyrim under their watchful eye....so much potential just lost.

Not a surprise, another PC player that realizes that no more DLC is okay because he can get mods, tons of them, for free! Good for you, really. Not cool for console players, whatever % of them, they would disagree with you. Including me.

I ordered Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim for my PC that is in the mail, and I still disagree with PC elitists that think its ok for no more dlc to be released. Official DLC > Mods. Dont get me wrong, there are som GREAT mods out there, but they should not be an excuse for beth to drop the ball like they did with skyrim.

I think the experiment in 'love heart bling will keep them calm' failed.

Oh, hey, a user that actually KNOWS he's late to the party. OP, you are a rare breed in these parts. :P

But yes, it's a shame. I'm just looking forward to seeing Fallout 4, despite being really bummed.

I plan on making as much noise on here, bethblog and pet hines' twitter so they know how they ended skyrim is unacceptable, and trust me, im not the only one. They cannot be allowed to make another game and make it as shallow as skyrim.

dont get me wrong, its great, but compared to oblivion, and from what I hear morrowind, it is a shadow of te former games. I mean I am playing oblivion right now, and without FT and playing on master equivelant from the get go, the main story itself took me 65 hours! Thats with sprinting through the oblivion gates naked to get them done as quickly as possible.
