New Emperor

Eh, I remember a few Mage's Guild quests, across the spectrum, that involving killing Necromancers. Necromancy is the ugly sister of the Empire basically, it's tolerated not invited to any parties.

Unless you're a powerful and influencial sister; then they bring you fresh corpses.

Star? Oh, those stars.

When I asked those questions; what I really said was what you then replied to me. That was the whole point with it. I just didn't say it straight out.

Other than the Grey Prince, has there ever been a hybrid of two different races before.

That was just because he was the first known vampire hybrid.

The child always take the mothers race, so you wouldn't really know if someone was a mixed race.

Back to the topic, I'd like to see a Bosmer try and take the throne.

Especially as an ingame book detailing his failed attempt.

But the again, Martins kid would also be the son of a devout priest who ultmately sacrificed his life for his people, daedra worshipper or not, the fact tat he gave up his old ways to become a priest and then ultimately saved tamriel speak alot for his character.

In short, Martins kid comes from a good stock.

Not if the kid came after Martin gave up his daedra worship.

The mother more than likely would still be a daedra worshipper, and would've raised the child as a daedra worshipper.

Personally, I'm hoping for the bloodiest civil war in Tamriel's history over this. I want a bunch of false heirs, all saying they;re the real one (and maybe one is, I don't know. I don't care either, as long as you aren't forced to side with him and it's not absolutely confirmed in-game that he is) fighting eachother, laying waste to the Empire they all want so badly, and you in the iddle, suddenly the most important wildcard in the war.

I'm all for civil war and it should be Roman style. While the counts all seemed incompetant in Oblivion, logically, the truly talented Imperial nobles are either members of the Elder Council or generals in the provinces making names for themselves by fighting the Oblivion crisis there and supressing revolts. Also, despite how cool the dynastic name "Septim" is (I have no clue how they can top names like Tiber Septim or Uriel Septim), in terms of real history and the history of Tamriel (tends to be one per Era), its time for a new dynasty. The new emperor should just be like Tiber Septim, a great general and talented administrator who took advantage of the death of the previous king of Cyrodiil (in Talos' case) to take power himself.

BTW An interesting main quest for TES V would be that the PC becomes the agent of an Imperial general or one of the kings in Skyrim and helps make him the united king/ruler of Skyrim in preparation for a bid for the Imperial throne. The majority of the quest would just be Skyrim politics and stuff (back to good old fashioned TES intrigues), and the bid for Emperor would be more implied at the end of the main quest with the king/general's actual campaign taking place in lore after TES5.

That's one possible approach for TES 5. Personally I'd rather see more than Skyrim in the next game; Hammerfell or Argonia for example. If you could have different planets in the KOTOR series, you could have more than one province (again) in a TES game.

Or maybe not. I guess you'd have to give up the amount of detail that we saw in "Morrowind".

Well TES V will probably be on a next-er gen console so i don't think they would have any problem having more than one province. it would just take a lot longer to make the game though

D. V. A. Ted Septim

You know what, though?

If it's not in Cyrodiil again, would it really matter?

Just say the the Elder Council is still ruling, and then in a later game try for a new Emperor.

better yet, you have to pick which of the false heirs to back...daggerfall-esque. however just because you back him does not make him the emperor. you only find out if there was a true heir afterwards. or the true heir/new dynasty takes over in the midst of your civil war...then you dont have another dragon break. as a result, all the PC does is help further break down the empire to allow a new empire to be built in its place. sign me up.

Since there's no more amulet, there's no need for a "true" heir.

It's not in their nature to seek that kind of power. They've been known to tear down some rulers and lift others up, but from behind the scenes; they're more like scientists or theologians than rulers themselves.

I think the Psijics aspire to things a little more elegant than ruling an empire, though.

There is. In a couple of cases, it includes ripped out hearts or other sacrifices and casualties. Also, it involves conquest, reenaction of mythopoeic events and mythically joining the bloodline of Alessia. Speaking of Alessia: at least one girl should be included in the process.

I always took it as just a feminine principal. Like land, someone [censored] the land and the mirror kicking his ass.

Edit: Thought this was still on the first page....damn.

Yes I know that they probably wouldn't and so on and so on. But I would like them to bring their teachings to other in a wider scene. You probably get my point.

Hmm, there are no races in Tamriel that could have handled Red Mountain without resorting to similar methods as Inquisition, subdugation, supression et al.

Azura said, let the weeping seize, so it it will because there is no longer any reason for the methods of past to exist. It's simply the problematic portrayal of life in Cyrodiil as seen in Oblivion that causes you to judge everyone according to the same.

Why not make M'aiq the liar the new emperor? He's reliable, trustworthy, and of course, honesty is his greatest policy!

Tiber Septim did conquer the land, but in doing so, he unified the land, greatly reducing infighting between the people in Tamriel. He brought Tamriel out of an age of chaos. His Empire also outlawed slavery and introduced religious tolerance.

And this would have been different from Napoleon winning in the early 1800s how?

Just for the fact the empire brought good things doesnt mean its legit. With that reasoning you could just abolish the UN and start some wars right now.
