I haven't played Eve Online in a while, but this looks awesome! It really reminds me of http://www.gamespot.com/users/HighSimSim/video_player?id=JXU0w2P45bwIvj7b.

The fleet does the flying, and the infantry does the dying! It really looks like a must buy!

PS: Does anyone else think that the guy in the spaceship looks like Commander Shepard?

I tried Eve. It bored me. But I really like the new Character Creation thing they got going on.

That looks like fun. I'm betting it's a PC exclusive though.

Actually, I am pretty sure that Dust 514 is going to be a console game. That's what I've heard anyways.

Looks pretty awesome, I love EVE :)

I dont think any pre alpha video from two years ago at the very beginning of the game devellopment is very representative of what the game will look like.

Yeah, people don't understand how games are made. :(
I'm also loving the new nebula and turret animations they are showing off too.

The Eve fanfest was held in Reykjavík this weekend and I saw some footage from it on TV. One of the larger tattoo shops in Iceland actually went there and set up shop there. People stood in line to get tattoos of various Eve symbols and pictures :P Talk about dedication.

Ya I got to try a sweet 30 day trial of EvE online, but after the 5th or 7th day I just stopped playing. Mechanics seemed way to unforgiving and it just didn't mesh right imho. However I will say that I can see why people like staying in it if you can get used to the game mechanics + ship flying.

The day DUST comes out I'll subscribe to EVE for a very long time...but I don't think that day will be anytime soon.

edit: Actually, it looks like it's being made a completely separate console game? BS. Scratch my subscription.

I like the idea of infantry being attached to consoles, and commanders to computers... it just seems well made that way; infantry can focus on the killing with more "efficient"/less "cluttered" (two terms I don't really want to use, but hopefully my point is coming across) controls, whereas commanders can focus on the leading with the more "expansive" design.

Anyways, I feel that this is the direction that gaming should move in; giant battles across different systems. That, along with virtual reality, should be the future of gaming.

Not completely separate. They're linked. EVE users can command and pay DUST players.

From previous articles I anticipated it being like you capture or engage in a space battle above a planet and you can do something like send pods of soldiers down and fight AS them. Too much to ask I suppose.
