I've read some of that. I've also read the unofficial FAQ. Kinda piles even more weight on the side of "wait and see". You have to understand that I did play the first game; I made myself finish it. I started but could never force myself to finish the second game. The idea of a third game along the same lines isn't that thrilling to me. I'll accept it is exciting to some players though. Like I said, personal preferences. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.
I'm not sure what you mean by that. Fallout:New Vegas is going to used the Fallout 3 engine and basically be the same game in terms of how the combat and such work. What Obsidian tends to do a good job with is story, so we will hopefully see something pretty good in that regard, with in interesting story, sidequests, and characters. I'm hoping that they don't rely too heavily on the Van Buren stuff, as I was not impressed by it, but we shall see.
But the main point is that what Obsidian is doing is not a game along the same lines as Fallout 1 and 2, but rather a game along the lines of Fallout 3 but in a different location.
