New Fallout?

Post » Mon May 09, 2011 7:03 am

I'm not exactly sure where to post this, but lately I've been thinking about where and when the next Fallout will be set, what do you think?

Considering how Fallout stalks me (every Fallout game takes place in an area where I've been to or live at) I think maybe Mt. Rushmore or the wild (mid)west!

lol, well since we are in the Fallout 3 part of the forum, I'd say the next one will be in New Vegas! :teehee:
Serious answer? Hm, I'd have to say I'd like to see it in Hollywood, lots of cool landmarks, huge houses and such that could really be interesting to explore.

A lot of people are pushing for an international location. However, Todd Howard (exec producer) has said that he is not happy with it being able to reproduce the whole 50's thing.
I would like to see Chicago. I would also like to know more about the annex of Canada. What did happen after that?

Technically, they already explored the Chicago area via Fallout Tactics. Not sure how canon that game is with Fallout 1,2, and 3 however. Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing a return to that area(especially if they expand on what happened in Tactics).

One of the problems I see with Fallout moving to the international scene is that there wouldn't be a lot of the Fallout "staples". For example, there would not be very many(if any at all!) suits of Power Armor as that is an American design. Also, many of the robots would not exist for the same reason(Mr. Handy, SentryBot, Robobrain, etc.). Would the Super Mutants be over there or would the FEV be unknown? No Robco, no Vaults either.

It would be really cool to see various international landmarks in the Fallout world, but I'm just not sure if it would work. :unsure2:

They need a Fallout in Australia. But it's "America's First Choice is Post Nuclear Simulation". :(

New York....a huge demolished ruin with many subways, and remnants of skyscraqers...Yea. And you have ports too with large ships in the harbor.

I'm not fussed really as long as the game looks and feels like a FallOut game & captures the awsome atmoshpere we experience playing FO3.

New York does sound fun but that also sounds like a lot of hard work for the poor devs!

DLC London linking in Desmond or Tenpenny's backgrounds could be interesting.

Detroit would be amazing! It's the Moter City, they coudl be rebuilding the auto industry in an ever-growing post-apocalyptic world. Not to mention all of the Motown landmarks and the Detroit River. It would be sweet. Plus I live there, so ...there's that.

And across the river would be Windsor. A good way to introduce some of Canada(and from a Canadian player, that would be cool!) into the mythos.:)

I'd like to see a Fallout with a forest or two, if such a region exists in the Fallout universe...

Chicago would very interesting. Though Fallout Tactics took place in that area, it wasn't exactly canon to the other Fallouts. I thought we visited New York in a older previous Fallout game? Must have not. I would love that as well. Also the annex of Canada like someone above said, I'd love to know more. Fallout out of America? If you've played a Fallout game you would know why that wouldn't work well at all..

There could be some rivalry between a Detroit group/faction and a Windsor group/faction because of the river, though that might be too similar to NCR/Legion's fighting over the Colorado...

It would be cool if they could make a DLC where you gotta travel all over the work (10 known countries, etc). It'll be cool because then there would be Cape Town for South Africa, New York for USA, London for Britian, Paris for France, etc.

Any other country suggestions?

Midwest with Cheyenne Mountain Complex as an Enclave HQ. :D And of course, if I had my say, the player character would be part of Enclave remnants.

Already a forum on this in Fallout Series Discussion, it's in two forums 'Fallout 4 Specualtion and Suggestions' and 'Official Fallout 4 Location Thread' Please use those...

And on a side note Hollywood (as I've seen posted here) is deep in NCR territory and Chicago was explored in Fallout Tactics

True enough, but Detroit is more known for the auto industry and music than casinos and I don't think they've done much with cars in the FO series, so that would be cool.
