And #3 it is, then! Just kidding, I prefer the second one too. In the next episode: Knef tries to decide whether Poison should stay dark and moldy or acquire a bright green tinge (think cartoon radioactivity). He should also make a proper WIP thread.

For me it's a tough choice between #2 and #3, but it looks like the majority has chosen #2. :P

Without seeing the actual effects, I vote dark and moldy. But maybe you'll surprise me :)

By dark and moldy I actually meant the vanilla Poison effects - I really like the explosion one, but I consider the bolt one of the worst.

I am pretty sure I somehow missed these before...I have no idea how really.

Very nice looking stuff, Knef, looking forward to seeing any further updates.

Also, I toss a vote to green and moldy too, but it could still perhaps use a little love from the 100% vanilla look. Radioactive neon-esque green seems like it might be a little out of place in TES to me, but you could always shoot for both, release one as an Alt look for it - win/win?

I'll add my assertion that these look amazing Knef! [And my vote is for #2 as well, and you should give us another choice between radioactive and moldy... maybe alternate versions...]

:goodjob: luv it!

Kneff, do you think you could make a frost explosion that was ice particles flying apart? Like, something that looked like you just shattered an ice berg or something.

For example, by default the Light effect shares some graphics with the Fire Damage effect, while Disintegration spells have the same Bolt effect as Shock Damage.
IIRC, the Morrowind Patch Project tidied up some of the magic stuff (spells with wrongly assigned Schools I think), not sure if it does all you want but if it does then a mention in the readme would be good. Everyone reads readmes.

Aw am I too late to say #1? I really liked the shocky not ball-y-ness of that one over the other two.

Maybe #3 could be used as some kind of inspiration for a 'light' bolt replacer?

Hi I tried retexturing your fire explosion, please http://www.mediafire.com/?gnau5mozdnm. The frost explosion is absolutely brilliant I saw no room to improve on that. :)

Hi everybody! I apologize for my disappearance, but university is a cruel mistress. Give me some time to get my stuff together and then I'll make a proper thread for this replacer. I have to advise you, however, that I'll be on vacation for the first part of August, so that will slow down work too. Depending on how much I do in the next days, I might release an alpha before I leave - that must be the only case where the alpha gets released before the beta. As always, your support and encouragement has been greatly appreciated :)

All these new explosions look totally amazing. Remaining explosions are restoration, conjuration, and alteration (for which there are actually 2 different explosions...1 for harmful effects [burden etc.] and 1 for good effects [shield etc.]) I actually make aoe restoration/helpful alteration spells for my various companions. Area-effect lightning shield when my party faces 1 or more storm atronachs? no problem!

But seriously, these are all amazing. I especially love the new lighting and illusion explosions.

Greetings again, collegues. I'm afraid I bring bad news. At the start of October I had an hard drive crash, and my Morrowind folder wasn't backed up. That means that I've lost everything I was working on, with the exception of the original Fire and Frost replacer, which was in my Dropbox folder. Due to personal matters I won't be able to work on this in the near future, but I will resume working as soon as possible. Take care :)

Sorry to hear about the HDD issues, but thanks for all the great work to date! I couldn't play without your fire and frost any more, and I'll be keeping an eye out for this in the future.
