Hello everyone, I am Kingpadboy and I am new to Fallout 3 for the PC but I have completed it on the PS3, I sold that version, actually I think I traded it in at Blockbusters for something else, I have decided to rebuy it on the PC from amazon with all 5 expansion packs included for around the ?21.98 mark, I thought that was a good deal, especially when I think to myself I can actually get mods etc for the PC version, so I am still waiting for the game to arrive, should be here by Saturday morning hopefully, I was hoping to find a list of all the mods on one page that are working and finished, no glitches etc..so I can download and store ready to install onto the game when it gets here..so if anyone can help me I would appreciate it very much, I hope to become a regular member on the forum and give my ten pennies worth, So hello to you all and look forward to chatting sometime :)

Speaking of mods.. Is there one to make the Pip-Boy disappear? I personally think it looks horrible : /

Try Pipboy Readius, not only does it remove the pipboy, it replaces it with a sort of PDA thing. Certainly far from lore-friendly, but it look a -lot- better.

Well it really depends on what your tastes are, but http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1056342&hl= is a pretty good list with some info on compatability.

Hi, welcome to the forums.
You've already been given a fishy stick, and it's one-per-customer only so look after it. :celebration:

A couple of tips to help you find the best mods on the Nexus:
Definitely register - you can't download mods over 2Meg (I think that's the cutoff) unless you're registered.
When browsing the mods, sort them by Endorsemants, Descending.

That'll make the cream rise to the top.
Mind you, it does bias your search towards established mods that have built up a following, so you won't find great new mods that way, but it's the fast-track to the tried-and-tested ones.

Welcome to the FO3 Forums buddy... you will soon see that it is populated with a great bunch of players willing to help out as best they can.

Unfortunately I am not one of them, in this instance, as I seldom install mods.

I run the GOTY edition on PC. Have only been playing it for a few weeks less than 50 hours with my main character "Morgana."

Let us know how you like the PC version of the game once you have played for a bit.

:)

Yikes! I hope they only charge you ?18.99 because that's what they're selling it for today. :)

I'd advise against going by the endorsemants - because that is literally a popularity contest and you'll miss out on a lot of good mods that way. I mean, mine have sod-all downloads and not many endorsemants, and my mods are awesome! :P

Agreed

Many are comfortable enough to anonymously download and use a pink vault, but not enough to actully put thier name on the endorsemant. :embarrass:

Ah...your story sounds so familiar.

I started off with both Oblivion, and Fallout 3 on the PS3, but I started to get jealous of all the mods, so what do I do? I get a PC so I can play it on there :)

I'm not really one to be able to help with the technical problems, but if you're looking for mods to download then I can suggest a few, which are AWESOME, in my opinion anyway. Just head over to the Fallout Nexus and search for their Names

1) FOSE (Fallout Script Editor) - Basically it just improves the game, plus a LOT of mods need this to work.

2) Pipboy PDA (Readus) - This turns the Pipboy into a PDA. Lets you have the FULL outfit you are wearing, rather than cutting off a bit for the pipboy, plus its FAR more eyepleasing.

3) Underground Hideout - By far one of my favourite mods. Basically it just adds a small underground Vault (with a sidequest to gain access). There are weapon walls which you put weapons on, a nice little display area for them as well. Then there are mannequins you can dress up. Great fun :)

4) MotherShip Crew - Ever finished Mothership Zeta? Wish you could do more with it? Well then this mod is for you :) Download it, and get a whole startship under your command :)

5) Oasis Safe Water - The first time I went to Oasis, because it was all green I thought the water would be safe. Well with this mod it is :)

6) Better Family - Basically changes the family to make them look like real vampires

7) Hair Pack - This adds in the hair for the Better Family Mod...rather than having it appear as though its been done in paint

Well, thats all the ones I have :)
I hope you have fun on Fallout on the PC

It's ?30 in my local GAME store, i'm getting ripped off here :(

You're not the only one who gets few endorsemants/downloads. The worst bit is the top 100 and File of the month on the nexus sites. The only mods to ever get featured are the ones who actively place a request on the file description/readme for people to endorse/vote for their file. The only mods i got with any decent amount of downloads is cause either they have been around so long that random download eventually add up or cause one is actually advertised on a bigger mod's page as being compatible with it.

Anyway, @Kingpadboy, I'd advise you to steer away from big overhaul mods until you are used to how the controls work on the P.C and get settled into it. Some of them change so many things it's confusing enough even when you know the game well enough.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1418 is a mod that you might enjoy. it doesn't change the gameplay whatsoever, however, it does add so much more to the game in much more music than what is in vanilla.

Haha, yep. First time I started modding oblivion, I thought I'd just change a few things I didn't like.

That got to a 350-.esp long mod list, and fo3's getting there too!
