New game crash solution

Hi.
To avoid the Black Mesa Screen after running a new game I turn off a number of third-party audio and video codecs. To do this I do not uninstall all my apps, I just use http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installed_codec.html. It can turn on and off any of installed codec in realtime.
So, to run game normally I have to turn off all the Nero codecs.
Try it, may be it will help you.
May be there is no Nero in your system, but I sure - a codec causes the crash definitely. Try to turn third-party codecs off one by one.
