New game-mode plus dev feedback!

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 2:11 am

not really a game-mode , but an idea about something cool u can do in a private match with some buddies .

anyways , i had a crazy thought just now.how cool would it be to play horse with ur frend ( but allow me to explain ). so say you and ur buddy are in a private match..., just the two of you. you guys are both using a light character. you show ur buddy a parkour move like a wall to wall slide jump and he has to mimic it. if he fails, he gets a letter "h" and u guys can take turn. so its similar to "skate" but instead of skateboard tricks, ur doing parkour tricks.just something i thought would be pretty fun doing but im sure lots of ppl will say its r3tarded but watevr.
but, is the parkour advanced as in u have to be skilled to do the crazy moves? or else this wouldn't work.

i posted this on SD's forums, but these forums are more active. someone from SD said its an interesting idea.

Sounds pretty boring if it's just you and a friend. If it was a challenge to unlock something that'd be cool because you can learn moves but just you and a friend would be boring.......

Better idea...

1 Light

1 Medium

The Light gets himself onto a spot he thinks the Medium won't be able to reach, and the Medium tries to prove him wrong.

So he can climb on top of the Space Needle as the medium takes what... the elevator? lol. Really the whole idea is just not very good, sorry. Just do the parkour challenge and see if they can beat your time or whatever.

SD claimed that every bodytype can reach any destination. It's just that larger bodytypes will need to use other methods to reach a high destination.

You shouldn't use false advertisemant.

On topic: Actually, I like this idea HORSE has been adapted to so many games, so why not Brink? Maybe a future Challenge DLC will have something kinda like this. If its expanded to explain that they must go to a certain location to perform the tricks, and remove a letter if you're the first to get to the location. Just kinda free-balling...

i Like your idea. Me and a friend did the same in MW2, Taking turns doin trickshots, and tryin to copy. But, you could always start a private match with no bots and no timer.

P.S. - CAN U START A GAME WITH NO BOTS?

EDIT: Instead of HORSE, its called BRINK - seewhatididthur :spotted owl:

Yes, theres a freemode where you can set everything you want... number of people playing, timer, map, and a few other things I'm sure.

If it's just two people, then just use honor rules. Frankly, I wouldn't want to waste time coding that, as much of a chance to show off (effects) as it is.

Also, SMART movement is supposed to be SMOOTH movement. It's not supposed to be difficult to do with using the button, but it will be a bit more timing-reliant if you don't want to use the button (you can do everything without SMART and it will yield faster results, but it increases your chance of failure).

It would be cool, I would like to see devs add in stuff that's just for plain fun like in Halo reach with grifball and the action sack. Sometimes it's nice to step back, and view things not from the shooter aspect but by taking advantage of what's there and making something that's just for enjoyment.

Pretty sure it would be.

As would my suggestion. I like your idea, but personally think having a less-mobile character finding alternate routes to places would challenge both.

Nope there are light only areas but all the objectives are all where any bodytype can reach.
